I see a bunch of people in this thread saying that Indongo was some sort of bum, now come on, that's straight BS and you all know it, or else you would if you'd actually seen him fight. He was a legit champion, went to the former champion's home turf twice in a row and beat them both easily. Crawford has fought his fair share of legit fighters and I honestly thought that on paper this was his sternest test, with Postal maybe being an exception. It just goes to show how special Crawford is. I figured he'd probably win, but it wasn't a sure thing, and I never would have thought in my life this fight would end by stoppage, especially not as early as that. I still think Ward is p4p no. 1 but Crawford has got to be a very close second. If he can continue this kind of run at 147 then he's setting himself up to become a legend in this sport, and he'll probably usurp that no. 1 spot before too long.

...Not since Kostya Tszyu unified the 140 pnd divisions after destroying Zab Judah in the famous chicken dance fight. The WBO organisation was only 5 years old back then and their belt wasn't regarded highly but even if it was I'm pretty sure Kostya would've smashed Giovanni Ribisi and had all four.

Well, that's evident now, but I don't think it was obvious before. I honestly thought this fight would be competitive enough for Indongo to at least take three or four rounds. I think Crawford went up a level in class again tonight, which makes me excited for whatever comes next.

and yes I did watch the fight. Brook/Spence was completely even up until Brook suffered socket problems yet again. So I'm not pretending Spence is some great talent, because I don't pretend Brook is anywhere near that level either

If you don't find it suspect that it has happened twice in two fights, then that's on you

Give Crawford credit for an outstanding win over that credible challenger from Africa. The belly shot KO was great. Crawford now needs to fight a Danny Garcia or even a Mikey Garcia or even Broner. Sending Broner to a KO loss would be great for all of society.

GGG was slightly up but it was fairly close, but yes

GGG has had a couple of bad performances now, I had him losing to Jacobs. It may be true that he is getting old

On the one hand, Crawford did rise to another level last night. On the other, Indongo has shown that he does not belong at the top. I myself had got overly enthused by his previous wins, but now that I have seen how things really are I am less inclined to think that Indongo is a genuine elite fighter.

And I was even thinking of a slight margin of hope for an Indongo win before. Crawford brought me back to reality, that's all.

At the start of the Troyanovsky fight I was immediately underwhelmed by Indongo. Of course not much time in that fight before Indongo put him to sleep, but his technique begged more questions than the KO answered. And I remember Zlaticanin's pedigree being questioned because he beat a 'faded Burns', and that was 2014 (so Indongo beating Burns in 2017 didn't answer anyquestions either). Not saying Indongo was a bum, he's not, but he's not a great scalp to get. I think Crawford has had better wins in terms of quality of opposition.

The one thing that can be said with certainty is that no-one at 140 can beat, or even compete with Crawford. And whatever the state of any division, to be able to own one with that level of dominance is a powerful statement.

His true test is at 147 of course, and it remains to be seen how he does there. He's not a small 140lb fighter, his frame looks like it could carry a lot more weight, and his skills suggest he will only start to be tested by the top guys at 147.

We don't know how Bud will do against the top 147 guys. We can speculate all we like, only thing for sure is that Thurman/Garcia(Danny)/Porter/Spence will put up a far tougher fight than Indongo or anyone else Crawford has fought to date.

Could he beat them all ? Possible. Could he dominate 147 like he has 140 ? Possible. Could he meet his match and get beat by someone like Danny Garcia ? Possible. We don't know until he gets there. Only certainty is we want to see him in with those guys at 147.
