First off Prize fighting AKA boxing is about the PRIZE = $$$$$$$$$$$$

He wanted to retire before floyd was even a thought.

He accomplished alot more than 99% of those in the know ever expected out of him.

Fighter I like has an opponent who doesn't come back: My guy beat him so bad he destroyed his desire to fight again.

Fighter I don't like has an opponent who doesn't come back: This proves they only wanted a payday and never really wanted to beat the guy I happen to not like.

It's amazing what a filter can do.

Maidana overachieved. Made more money that he could ever imagine.

Two fights with Floyd, no desire to continue after that. He could have made millions more but why bother when you are set for life. He had a tough career.

The way Maidana quit was blatant an obvious, retiring with back to back losses, that's not a warrior as he so called claimed himself to be. The fans , sport, media spent the entire promotion (2 years worth) taking about how much better and improved he is with Robert Garcia.....and then he quits after all that goodwill and hype.

This guy couldn't even KO Khan and he barely beat an old overweight and one eyed Erik Morales so why are you suprised? He was always **** and he won't be missed. Devon Alexander beat him! says it all.
