IDK how much he ultimately took home but I imagine it was less than what we hear due to taxes, manager, corner, so if I was him I would've used my name and success I got from Mayweather and get a couple of other million dollar paydays. Maybe get a tuneup and call out Canelo at 155 but only for a fair percentage of purse. But oh well, too late, he's probably beyond past it at this point.

Those 85 million* are adjusted for inflation. It's not like $5million USD has the buying power of $85 million USD in Argentina. It all pretty much comes out to be the same I pay here in US in rent, utility, groceries, etc. What's $12-16k rent in Argentina is $600-900 rent in USD, what's $130 for #1 meal in micky d's in Argentina, here is more or less the same $7 USD or so.

*taxes, manager's cut, corner's cut not subtracted.

I'm pissed off he left boxing, because I enjoyed his fights, but he's happy. He fought for money, he made money, and he left. All boxers wish they can make money like Mayweather. It's hard to want to go back to the gym after you make that type of $.

He made the most money he could off of what talent and ability he had in the sport. If he doesn't want to do it any more and is secure more power to him.

It's amazing what a filter can do.
