Before You Crown Loma

I said I have had him on MY P4P list for some time now.You want to throw out unsubstantiated claims as universal truths (which almost no one else believes) like Mikey being a P4P fighter for "quite some time now" and expect others to try to figure out how to justify them for you? I understand if you're excited as a fan of Mikey, but you're saying he'd destroy a guy that almost no boxing expert ranks him above.
Even if Mikey has been added to a few lists (one of which may have been written by you for all I know) as of a few days ago, let the man have another solid performance against better competition before you crown him prematurely.
And yeah, I am happy that Mikey is finally getting his due for what I saw a long way off.
As I said to another poster, it isn't very hard to imagine how a fight between Mikey and Vasyl will play out.
Mikey will cut the ring off better than anyone Vasyl has fought, counter with harder punches and more accuracy than anyone Vasyl has fought while getting hit less than anyone Lomachenko has fought...and when Vasyl does hit him, it will be on a chin that took the best shots Broner had, the same Broner that floored Shawn Porter and hurt John Molina, and had Marcos Maidana's corner giving him illegal smelling salts to revive him in between rounds.
It will be a slaughter...which is exactly why we will probably never see it.Last edited by koolkc107; 08-05-2017, 04:12 PM.Comment

Highly skilled and talented but I'm not sold on him being P4P #1.
Only in this odd fantasy world we call p4p does this guy rank above a fighter like an Andre Ward.
How good he truly is is anybodies guess he is just fighting the same bolt upright boxer-puncher types over and over. He's just beating the usual TR bunch all their prospects go through without any fuss. May as well be fighting the same guy.
Mikey Garcia went through the same lot in better fashion then stepped up and beat Zlatican and stepped up again to beat Broner. How anybody can say he is P4P or rank him ahead of Mikey (and many others) is beyond me.
Let him prove it.Comment

Look at the list. Almost everyone else on it has a victory over an acknowledged elite fighter. Some have a few.
Even Lil g, who isn't in my top 10, has a better scalp than anyone on Loma's short resume.
Yeah, as I said in my OP, the talent is there.
As a matter of fact, I am amused at the reactions in this thread, given how much props I did give Loma.
Oh well...Comment

Lomachenko is ultra talented but he is untested. Russell Jr is a quick and can crack but his foot work is atrocious. He literally shuffles his feet. Lomachenko footwork is far superior and still Russell Jr caught him quite a bit at the end of the fight. I'm not sure what the Walters was about because he clearly quit the minute the fight got tough. I can't judge him on that win because Walters quit and he wasn't hurt or in danger but he was on the verge of being outclassed. Mikey Garcia and Rigondeaux would be a solid test for Lomachenko but I still favor him against both. He has to beat someone on their level to crown him P4P #1.Comment
