Before You Crown Loma

Mikey Garcia is a B/B+ level fighter. Loma is an A+ level fighter, who has time to make his case for the HoF. Mikey Garcia has NO chance against Loma (not now, not ever), and this will be demonstrated when they fight if it's not obvious already.

Mikey has been one of the best P4P for quite some time now.

Unlike Loma, he has shown an ability to adapt, sometimes midfight.

He was great against Broner, if not as spectacular as usual.

For me, the big take away from the fight with About Bullshyt is that when Adrien (undisputedly a huge puncher even for 147) nailed Mikey, Garcia absorbed the powershots very wll.

So I ask you, what can Loma hit him with?

When Mikey cuts the ring off better than Salido ever did, when Mikey starts countering and landing 40 or 50 percent of his powershots like he is prone to do, what will Loma do then?

The fight will not be close, will not last the distance, and will end with Loma on the canvas or on his stool.

Let me preface this by saying I really like watching Vasyl Lomachenko fight, and I think he has the potential to go down as one of the best ever.

But, some have said the word "potential" just means you haven't really done shyt yet.

I write all this to say that I am not ready to annoint him just yet and have serious reservations about how he would do against the better fighters in and around his weight.

I think guys like Mikey Garcia, Miguel Berchelt, Terry Flanagan, Robert Easter Jr, and Gervonta Davis would pose serious problems to Lomachenko.

All would have great shots at beating him...and I give Loma practically no chance against Mikey Garcia.

Yes, Lomachenko looks the part. It's dazzling really.

But, when Gary Russell Jr is the best guy you have fought, and when you have a legit loss to Orlando Salido, then no matter how good you may turn out to be, the truth is there are valid question marks NOW.

Questions that can only be answered by fighting some or all of the names above.

Does that mean Garcia has fought anyone even in the ball park as good as Lomachenko? I think not.

And, remember Gary Russell has pretty much obliterated all other opposition but was toyed with by Loma.

Yes, he's got very few fights but the dude is the goods. All experts know it, which is why he's already in the top 3 p4p.

I give Mikey about as much credit for beating a bum in AB as I give Canelo for beating another bum in Chavez Jr. I see the fight going down similar to Floyd vs. Corrales with Mikey barely being able to land on Loma and eventually getting stopped or dominated by UD. You mention Mikey as a P4P fighter for a while now; which P4P list is Mikey on other than your own?

Any fighter that fights rough and can put pressure on Loma for all 12 rounds will beat him. Walters could have beat Loma if he wasnt put on the shelf for a year while Loma was active and fighting. Martinez just fought two back to back wars with Salido and was spent. Salido was a slow, old fighter who beat Loma by 1. putting pressure on him 2. working the body.

Valdez, Berchelt could beat Loma if they go all in pressure 12 rounds.

Davis is to young and inexperienced, not all of us get to spend over 12 years in the Olympic scene like these EE fighters.

Loma will beat any fighter who trys to box with him at his weight class. his boxing is to good, but he has no heart and will collapse under pressure, Salido created the blueprint.

You want to throw out unsubstantiated claims as universal truths (which almost no one else believes) like Mikey being a P4P fighter for "quite some time now" and expect others to try to figure out how to justify them for you? I understand if you're excited as a fan of Mikey, but you're saying he'd destroy a guy that almost no boxing expert ranks him above.

Even if Mikey has been added to a few lists (one of which may have been written by you for all I know) as of a few days ago, let the man have another solid performance against better competition before you crown him prematurely.
