Damn you really get into theory huh...sweating writing them posts?

Last summer I installed Mayweather Sr. posters in Mosques toilet rooms. It's the most original thing ever done. I'll save you the trouble in saying this, for the context in your - following my nuts in a failed matter approach - so, "by all means quote me on it again!" Send me some green k at least for following my nuts

what a load of complete crap. marquez pretty much has only one convincing loss in his career and that was against one of the best fighters of all time who he jumped up two weight classes to fight and who then didnt even bother to make the weight limit. Marquez is a 1st ballot hall of famer and that makes him elite.

Chose top 100 in any weight class by accident....I think he's one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all-time.

I agree. Great fighter, but not elite. Boxers with movement gave him problems. He lost decisively to Braldey 117-111. He lost to Chris John, although a close fight. He lost to Mayweather. Even fighters like Pacquiao, who weren't technically sound managed to beat him.

One of the greatest fighters I have ever seen. True elite. True ATG.

you're saying pac is elite but JMM isn't and they fought four times: Draw, 1-point win for Pac, disputed Majority Dec for Pac, then JMM W by KTFO....

                yeah, ok.

Had he beaten Manny with no allegations and certainly not lost to John and Bradley then he reaches elite level with the others of this era Manny, Floyd, Hopkins and Wlad. Personally I'd like to see JMM come back for 2 more fights against Bradley and Manny if he wins both clean then his legacy is greatly enhanced. The problem is wear and tear of all his wars have destroyed his body so it's probably time for him to call it a day. Great fighter one of the best of the last 20 years he just came up short of being elite imo.
there was nothing controversial about it...

Marquez is elite and may have a case for being the greatest Mexican boxer of all time (although it's not a case I am immediately prepared to make). He was also just a ton of fun to watch. Marquez-Diaz 1 is still a fantastic match for example.

IDK about where Marquez would fall in ATG rankings but I could see him breaking the top 100.

I think if JMM ain't considered elite then you can't consider Pacquiao TI be elite. They're on the same tier in my opinion.
JMM won the rivalry and KO'd Pacman. One of the best rivalries of all time. In the HOF wherever you have them they have to be ranked alongside each other.
