He beat WHitaker while Whitaker was top dog at 147 and widely regarded as one of the top defensive fighters of all time.

There is also no doubt in the majority of fans and journalists minds that he beat Tito and if you watched the fight, he completely outclassed the second best welter of his generation, winning at least 8 or 9 rounds and doing so comfortably.

That's 2 out and out ATGs but he also holds wins over top calibre fighters in Quartey, Vargas, Sturm (a bit dodgy) and so on.

That's a quick dozen just in the past 20 years that all best quartey. This list will be huge if I include older greats.
How do you rank a prime Vargas in H2H match ups with today's WWs? I think that's a great win for Oscar, but wanna see how you personally rate Fernando.

Good post, but Sturm was completely robbed against Oscar. It was so obvious they were trying everything in their power to setup the ODHLYA/B-Hop fight.

Looking back it was a good thing they didn't give sturm the decision with all the robbery's he's gotten in germany

He beat Tito in my book and the Mosley rematch. He got jobbed in those two bouts.

But mosley is not an ATG..

All prime or near prime atgs and they all pinned losses on DLH. I seriously can't name 1 ATG in his prime that he beat. Can you?
I'm glad to hear prime ATG Floyd struggled with old ass DLH

When would danny....or floyd for that matter...ever step in the ring with someone like ike quartey? Quartey would be last generations version of lara...without the running.

I kinda agree. As much as Oscar has been robbed the other way, in this instance he was the winner of a very fortunate decision. Having said that, it was particularly close because sturm the bigger, younger man refused to really bully Oscar.

Got robbed versus Mosley, Tito and Floyd, so there is your answer. If you are going to discredit his win over Whitaker because Pernell was at the end of his career, then you can't credit Floyd for his win over Oscar since it was at the end of Oscar's career (and it was a robbery).
