Why does GGG get a pass for ducking Andre Ward?

Not trying to start a race war here but can't help but think it's got something to do with racism. If Golovkin, Pacquiao, De La Hoya ducked people everyone rushed to make excuses for them, but if the media even thinks Mayweather/Ward are doing it then they're cowards, don't want to fight this guy or that guy etc. They always ask Andre about this guy but never ask him about Andre. Then Ward sends this guy an offer for 50-50, it's rejected immediately and nobody at all calls him out for it?
Something's seriously wrong with that picture.Last edited by JK1700; 07-23-2017, 07:40 PM.Comment

Andre's last fight before the injury was at 168 against Rodriguez. Before he came back in 2015 he offered Golovkin a fight at SMW in late 2014 which was declined in 30 minutes. Imagine if Ward declined it, SMH
He'd never hear the end of it.

More to do with fan favourites. They don't want to anger their fanbase by calling out favourite fighters of their fanbase. Then there's politics also involved. Mayweather only talks to a few select reporters, Ward isn't with a big promo company so it's OK to talk **** about those. But these reporters suck the **** of top rank fighters because they don't want to piss off old Bob, they'll get no more interviews with a large amount of fighters if they do.Not trying to start a race war here but can't help but think it's got something to do with racism. Golovkin received the 'offer' when he already had a fight signed (Lemieux). We're in a era where fans and media are so quick to call out the fighters. As soon as a fight we want doesn't happen, fans start calling one guy or the other a ducker and the media writes stories about who doesn't want it etc. We know that some fighters are more liked/get preferential treatment but why was Golovkin allowed to avoid this fight so blatantly and not get any pushback for it? He got a pass.
They bill this guy as "the most feared person in boxing", he said he would fight anyone from 154 to 168 and Ward offered him a 50-50 split at 168 in 2014/2015 before he moved up to LHW. The offer was rejected in "36 minutes" because "Golovkin wants to unify the division, maybe in 2018 if all goes well".
When asked about Ward, GGG said "I'm not going to talk about him, I don't want to hear about him". That's right folks, the guy who is the most feared of anyone and will fight anyone at any weight, doesn't even want to talk about Andre Ward. When we're in a era of fighters always having to move up and constantly take challenges, why is this guy allowed to avoid a huge fight like that? You guys called Canelo a coward for not wanting to go from 154 to 160 to fight him straight away, but he won't even go up 1 weight class, not even one! The media wants to crown this guy p4p#1 but the best fighters have gone up 2-3 weight classes, and we're just going to give him a pass for not being willing to go up at all?
Let's be real they ducked the fight because they know Ward is the toughest boxer to beat in any weight division and more than likely would have exposed and beat him. I just think it's crazy, how some guys get criticized for what socks they wear, and other guys get a pass for anything and everything. It's just crazy.Comment

Don't even know why they keep perpetuating this nonsense. Fully grown adults saying the darnedest things. How can you even duck someone that is not in your division?
When exactly was the ducking occurred? Why didn't Ward make any offer before and shortly after the Monroe fight? Where was he during those times?Comment

You're totally right about reporters and Top Rank bro. I actually know about some reporters who are on the Top Rank payroll and write what they are told to writeMore to do with fan favourites. . People like Dan Rafael are bad as well, because it's not like he's paid off but is clearly biased towards some guys and against others and you can see it come out in his writing. For these reasons I stopped paying attention to what "boxing writers" say a long time ago. I just watch interviews with the fighters now.
Golovkin seems to have a lot of media behind him. We're always hearing good things while things like this get buried/hidden and barely brought to light.Comment

Did you even read what I posted? Ward offered him the fight in late 2014. The Lemieux fight happened about a year after this offer was made.
He ducked him because he said he was willing to fight anyone from 154-168 then when the p4p#2 offered him a fight he rejected it straight away. This was in late 2014. Ward didn't make an offer after that because he was told "Gennady wants to stay at Middleweight, maybe we'll fight you in 3-4 years". Yeah that's trueDon't even know why they keep perpetuating this nonsense. Fully grown adults saying the darnedest things. How can you even duck someone that is not in your division?
When exactly was the ducking occurred? Why didn't Ward make any offer before and shortly after the Monroe fight? Where was he during those times?
When Canelo didn't want to go up and fight GGG straight away this place was loaded with people saying he was ducking him. So why is it okay for him to get called out by someone in 1 division above him (What he did to Canelo) but instead of taking it, reject it straight away? If Ward did that, he'd get killed for it.Comment

You don't even know what you're talking about.
Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.
"We made him an offer, prior quite frankly, to knowing about the fight with Lemieux.Comment
