If Floyd doesn't retire and man's up and fights Cotto like Uncle Roger thought Floyd would do, Cotto vs Margarito never happens.

But since Floyd "retired", Cotto fought someone else.

margarito beating cotto doesn't mean Floyd does.

Floyd actually beating cotto means Floyd does.

they actually fought remember? when Floyd was 35 years old. and they could have fought when Floyd was 28. cotto waited for Floyd to get old and still lost. lmao

Can't duck someone from a promotional company you just left through an ugly court battle and who you feel the promoter owes you money.

At the time, Cotto arguably had a better resume at Welterweight than Mayweather:

Cotto beat Judah, Mosley, Urkal and Quintana.

Mayweather beat JWW Hatton, Mitchell, Judah and Carlos Baldomir

Who did Ricky Hatton beat at 147? He got his ass kicked by Luis Collazo. That's it.

Is that why Mayweather said Cotto lives too far, isn't a PPV star and won't let the sport of boxing retire him?

That would have been a hell of a fight. There's no question that prime Cotto of 2008 had the best chance against Mayweather compared to the 2012 version.

But it is what it is, it's in the history books. Floyd strangely retired, then came back. For whatever reasons, his hands, competition or whatever.

But he came back and continued being successful so I have to give the man credit for that. Floyd is a hell of a boxer. There is no doubt in that.

he was such a beast but he has no stand out wins on his resume.

past prime mosley and a 1 legged Martinez and a 1 eye margarito are his biggest wins.

cotto has always been overrated to me.

I won 100 dollars on margarito bum ass beating cotto in 2008. nobody thought he would lose but me

                If we're talking about WW:

At the end of 2007, Cotto beat Judah, Urkal, Quintana and Shane Mosley

At the end of 2007, Mayweather beat Judah, Baldomir, Hatton and sharmba Mitchell.

Cotto had the better WW resume with his win over Shane Mosley.

Are you ******ed? Were you even following the sport then? What are you talking about?

                  so let's recap.

Floyd fought 3 people on that list

margarito fought 4 people on that list

Cotto was never going to beat Mayweather. Cotto wasn't that good. It doesn't matter if they fought in 2006, 2008, or 2012, Mayweather would beat Cotto easily every time.

                      keep pretending it never happened.
