I wanna get back to you on this via visitor or private message because this is a point that I wanna talk about and could turn out to be a great discussion
If joe is 'grossly overrated' then Ward is the most overrated boxer in the history of the sport.

Zags is my man all the way. I can't say how it would go down in reality...but one thing is for sure...Joe had that winners mentality. He didnt take shet and unlike kovalev...he would give as much as he got. He wasnt afraid of a dirty fight and if ward hit him low or threw the head. .he would have it returned quick smart. Ward relies as much on bullying as skill and has often been said he can sometimes get a free ride just outside of the rules. Perhaps it would be a little like maidana/may 1 where Joe would just pressure dre to the point that dre would never be able to get set. In terms of who could outhustle the other...stamina would be the key...and Joe had it in abundance.

But Sergei exposed weaknesses in Dre boxing game, defense.

He also made him look human and beat him once for a lot of people.

Let's make it simple, Dre couldn't outbox Serguei so Dre broke the russian down, and it took him 2 fights to achieve it.

Wich is amazing, props to Dre.

But I thought Dre was going to outbox Kovalev, I thought skillwise Dre was better than that and wouldn't have to outhustle a guy like Kova.

So know, I don't know if Dre would outbox Calzaghe.

One thing is sure, Calzaghe had balls and wasn't a quitter like Kova.

Style make fights, and Calzaghe style doesn't look good for Ward either.
What are you talking about? He got ONE kd in 2 fights and quit in the second...the only thing serGAY figured out was that he didn't have the skill and heart Ward did.

Joe had every distance covered, he could fight equally well in the pocket as he could at mid-range where Ward does his best work. I believe he would also have too much activity for Ward

Kessler also lost to Ward but once again they only remember headbutts.
Not taking away from Joe because Kessler was a very solid fighter.

Ward wins. Nobody can beat Ward

He'll just headbutt you and/or punch in the balls for a TKO win while the referee smiles and the judges approve

Who can resist taking brutal combos to the balls and bladder? even Joshua or Wilder would crumble

Ward is invincible until they allow his opponents to wear heavy armor as underwear

i think joe's high workrate and faster hands lead him to a close decision win

Perhaps he is, perhaps he isn't hence why I need to message that guy I quoted about Ward because he said something that's interesting which is worth discussing because I can see where he's coming from

LOL @ all the bitter Kovalev fans in this thread. Ward's just better. Yeah it was an early stoppage but you could clearly see where the fight was going. Skill wise Andre is better than Calzaghe in several ways, it would be a competitive fight but what does Joe do better? Not much is the answer. He would be competitive though.

Ward's just the best fighter out there like him or not and when you're the best you get the most haters along with it. That's just how it is & always has been.
