McGregor has been in with better guys, but Perry looks like he hits much harder. He has a couple legit 1 punch KOs. Not sure who is the better striker, but Perry is making a real name for himself in the UFC.
Perry got worked by a relatively inexperienced boxer. He could not defend the body and could not land while in the pocket. This is about exactly what we will see on August 26th.Last edited by Johnny2x2x; 07-18-2017, 10:17 AM.Comment

Its not like he was super experienced at the time. He was 2-0 after a 6 month pro MMA career at the time. Usually MMA guys who box early in their career (of which their are surprisingly many) are just getting paid when they can't get a MMA fight or a fight falls through & other random sh^t like that. Not sure if that was the case here or not.
[Edit: confirmed he had a canceled fight in MMA on a RFC show in Mar. 2015 so this was likely just to pay the rent or something f#cked up like that]
And this was RJJ's promotion. And judging by most of RJJ's cards they look like classic club shows where the red corner wins all night so the whole card is setup fights basically. Could be that Perry asked to be thrown in deep waters doe cuz he's THAT guy who'd do something like that.
And that McNeil guy is pretty solid for that level. Nothing to get impressed about with his W's, but his two close L's are to a guy who's only lost to Jesse Hart & Bivol since they fought & a guy who's a undefeated prospect. And the only wide W is to Ievgen Khytrov who was a top ten, top 15 abc ranked guy for a minute there. He's respectable for that level.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 07-18-2017, 10:49 AM.Comment

weird how the UFC fighter only started exhibiting a bit of head movement about a minute before he got KO'd which was when he had his best moments of the fight and the even buzzed the boxer with a neat left hook.
I suspect he would do better in his next boxing match tbh. He somewhat grew into it. He looked genuinely crap at the beginning.
I suspect May/Mac will resemble this fight tbh.
It should do, let's be honest.
If not then Mayweather has let the sport down. No point sugar coating it. And I am certain Conor McGregor just like this dude would make incremental improvements every time he stepped into a boxing ring.
They're professional athletes and in Conor's case he is an elite combat athlete. But improvements can only ever be incremental. It's not a movie.Comment
