What's with the notion that we should root for Floyd just because he's a boxer?

this x 100000000000000000000000000000I agree I don't see anything bad about one of the best fighters of all time losing to a guy who has never boxed in his life. Something endless top boxers couldn't do.
That only makes our sport look legitimate.
Conor would then leave our sport talking about how easy boxing is as a sport.Comment

I don't like Floyd, at all, and Manny beat him, but agree with most on the 1st page. As a boxing purist, first and foremost, which was my first combat sports love, before MMA, I wouldn't be able to stand the MMA, and Conor fanboys saying that boxing is officially soft, and even a boxing noob could beat their best guy. I just can't enjoy that, no matter how much I want Floyd to lose (to a boxer).
And TS, are you F'ing kidding me? This would literally make boxing look like complete ****, and a farce if a guy with a 0-0 boxing record beat, or God forbid, knocked out the best boxer of this generation, and possibly the most technically gifted boxer of all time. Are you living in some fantasy world that we aren't a part of?Comment

The "half a fight" notion is absolutely abusurd and ignorant. People always say how tough and grueling grappling is, but always forget that every punch you receive, you stop breathing for that instant and have to hold your breath, and it's literally like not breathing, and punches take a whole hell of a lot more out of you, stamina wise, than graplling.
Why do you think the Diaz Bros always suffocate and drown their opponents? It's the punches in bunches that don't allow their opponent to breathe, and then they collapse from exhaustion, or the ref stops it, because they can't do anything.
A lot of people are completely ignorant to boxing and punching in general. Not to mention the mental stress of having to avoid punches from a pro level boxer that's coming at you with the speed of a lightning, and having to worry about getting your lights shut out.
Please try and tell me a grappling exchange is more taxing than a GGG, or any well placed body shot to certain spots, or any part of your body. It's not.
Boxing is the most physically demanding, and most cardio driven sport of any sport, period. And I love MMA.Comment

no, it's not. it's the truth, whether you like it or not.
if you and i get into a fight for our lives, we are not limited to just punching. boxing is the sport of punching and not getting punched. but it's not the sport of fighting. the sport of fighting is MMA.Comment

Khan lost four times to a less difficult series of opponents. So if you think he'd have gone undefeated against a more difficult series of opponents, be my guest, but don't get upset when everybody thinks you're ****ing ******ed.Comment
