I don't think the loss hurts his legacy In anyway for the simple fact that the majority of fans and boxing experts feels that he won the fight. I also don't think he loses his spot on the ATG list(wherever he was on the list). If losses at the end of your career were vital to your placement on the ATG list than fighters such as Sugar Ray Robinon, Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, Muhammed Ali, Benny Leonard and Roberto Duran would not be placed where they are as they all took losses at the end of their careers.

I dont really get this tainting of legacy stuff. Imo the only way to taint your legacy is that a fightwrs gets caught cheating throughout his career. These fighters are not in their prime and should not be held in such a standard that a lost at 37+ years old is two or three down the atg list.

Do you think Floyd's legacy would be affected If he would somehow end up losing to Mcgregor? Taking Into consideration that he holds a boxing record of 0-0 with no experience as a pro?

I agree its just fan BS, history does not entertain hype like a fan in the moment does, history analyzes with a critical eye and is rational because it takes time to digest a guys career as to its place in history.

Most of this forum is 95% hype and gossip value.

PAC being koed to jmm and losing to horn doesn't effect PAC being considered greater than Floyd. Every fighter loses. F!oyd arguably losing to maidana, Castillo and PAC is not a problem, no big deal and nothing to criticise Floyd's resume for.

The real issue and problem is that Floyd always tried get things in his favour, and didn't fight who he said he could beat, opponents with no special effects, not taking risks is where problem lies with floyd. Floyd not beating as good fighters as PAC and or fighting past prime fighters and not beating them as convincingly as PAC is another proibkem for floyd. Always homev advantage as well.
He's bigger than PAC, longer arms, height, weight yet only fought the same people as PAC. Not doing anything to distance himself from chasing pack.
Why hasn't Floyd fought at least a handful of people that PAC wouldnt have as they are too big for PAC?
He fought Oscar at the full 154 limit having just moved up to 147 himself.
Pac fought a drained and older Oscar at 147.

Floyd fought Canelo, Roach and even you Pacboys here on nsb cried and said Canelo is too big when the fight was proposed.

Pac fought a drained Cotto at 145lbs, Floyd fought him at 154lbs.

And finally! Stop lying about weight. Manny pacquiao weighed 152lbs on fight night against Floyd, NSAC and USADA had Floyd weighing in at 149lbs (They weighed him for the dehydration issue TUE)

Also Floyd weighed 150lbs against Canelo (2013) on fight night, 148lbs against Maidana (2014) on fight night, and 150lbs against Victor Ortiz (2011). Even going far back to the beginning of his welterweight campaign he weighed 146lbs (fight night) against Judah, and 149lbs against Baldomir. All the evidence is in the links below.

Guess what? Pac has rehydrated to 150lbs in most of his welterweight fights. In fact, even at 140 he has a fight or two where he rehydrated to 150lbs.

This myth that Floyd is so much bigger than Pac has run it's course. Time to wake up to reality.

Your right about the height and reach though, floyd is 1.5/2 inches taller and has 3/4 inch reach advantage.

Would y'all stop it already. The boxing public are idiots cant see things right in front of their eyes for what it is.. there is no decline in pacquiao ... he beat the crap outta horn..and will beat any welterweight not named mayweather out there .. he got robbed and fouled.. the problem is arum.. arum made sure his guy bradley won to get a trilogy now he did it with horn it was pacs last fight under contract now he has to resign with arum multifight deal to secure a horn rematch and get his belt back.. and he hasnt knocked someone out since a catch weight drained 144 lb cotto bcuz pac is no longer fighting 140 pounders...duhhh! He cant ko 147 pounders like in 140 he just beats the crap outta 147 pounders.. wake up! Arum is ruining pac not age!

I think pacquiao is so far passed his best that these losses won't affect his legacy. The last time a pac close to his prime lost was the robbery against bradley.

Its not like jones going hell n back with tarver and then getting kod. Or hearns getting battered in his prime twice or Duran quitting.

PAC won't taint his legacy. When in your prime you give your life, fight the best, have wars, entertain the public fighting everyone is it any winder that you may shorten your career.
Is it then fair to take away from someone's legacy if they continue to fought when they shouldn't? They gave their life to you in their prime and produced all that hard work.
Some have too pay bills and make a living.

Floyd's legacy will go up in smoke if he loses to McGregor simply because McGregor is not a boxer and Floyd is representing the 'honour' of boxing. If Floyd lost to say Thurman at 40 it wouldn't imo damage his legacy (Floyd slurpers would be butthurt though).

If Floyd loses to Conor the ridicule it will bring to boxing overall will crush Floyd's legacy unless it is an illegitimate, screwjob type win for McGregor.

Thankfully such a eventually should not occur!
