Comments Thread For: Will Manny Pacquiao Taint His Legacy By Continuing His Career?

By Andreas Hale - We're a week removed from Manny Pacquiao's controversial loss to Jeff Horn. Everyone has weighed in and most concluded that Pacquiao should have won. However, there has been an overwhelming sentiment that suggests Pacquiao is far from the fighter who tore through divisions several years ago. Perhaps more than the decision itself being conceived as a robbery at worst and a controversy at best, that part about Pacquiao's deteriorating skills was clear...

It might, but it could also be some pretty good $$$ for Pac.

Nice article. And I agree with the writer. If MP don't go RJJ route, his legacy is secure.

Pac took no punishment except from headbutts. Comparing this to a RJJ, Ali, Duran, situation is a joke

He lost to Jeff Horn. His legacy is already tainted.

I guess losing to Jeff Horn in hindsight can be looked at as a "calm" warning to Pac to call it the quits already. Yeah, it's sad to have the loss to Horn on his resume despite he should of got the "W" but maybe that was "something" trying to tell Pacquiao to quit now before he suffers another brutal KO loss. It's like, yeah, it sucks Pac lost, but had he won or had he won easily, his next matchup might of been that much tougher for an aging fighter like himself and he could of been BADLY damaged after.

I hate watching a favorite fighter that you grew up watching destroying everyone finally show he's human, but it happens to all. Time is the ultimate enemy of athletes and it waits for NO ONE.

I have watched the fight video three times and scored independently... Pacquiao lost the fight. I think his favorite left punch was missing target. His strength and power has deteriorated due to aging. I strongly feel he can prepare well and come out better for the rematch. Horn is not a special fighter but he took away fear and respect for Pacquiao.
