He didn't beat anybody. He agreed to fight Povetkin for the interim title and when Povetkin was caught doping AGAIN, King threatened to sue if Stiverne wasn't named mandatory.

Considering Wilder was awarded his full purse from the Povetkin fight after Povetkin doped, was probably wise for the WBC to name Stiverne mandatory rather than risk losing in court.

Not sure why you call the WBC crooks when they're the only sanctioning body that doesn't have a bribery scandal in their history . . .

I'm not forgetting anything. That doesn't change the fact that the WBC had nothing to gain by fighting in court with Don King, especially when Wilder was long overdue for a mandatory.

Oh yeah.... unless Deontay has a quality opponent lined up he should be all over this ish like a rash. Inexplicable really IMO, but I'm willing to wait and see which daring Quixote the Tuscaloosa native manages to coax into the ring next before I pass judgement.
