Cotto, suprisingly, has shown some resilience. Cotto in his prime was 2008. When I compared tito, Lacy, Cotto, etc, I was talking about a group of past prime fighters. If you want to pull of rankings and validate who was more past prime based off rankings, go ahead. But if we're being honest, Cotto arguably lost to Clottey, was beaten to a pulp by Pac, almost killed by Marg... He did ok against Trout. But point is is Cotto, even as high ranked as he was wasn't the same fighter from 2008.

I never said anything about Marquez being past prime. I was talking about DLH
Comparison is poor though because those fighters aren't comparable.

A better comparison would be including Johnson and Hill for Roy. Past it but still top fighters.

Tito and Lacy were unranked. More comparable to Andre Berto and Sharmba Mitchell for Floyd

You could argue WBO wasn't legit then but that's another story.

I said Floyd had 3 of the 4 belts at WW because you said he wasn't unified champion. And he's been unified at other weights too.
I was actually going to say that Roy held all the belts before WBO existed. Then I thought about it and didn't feel like seeing if WBO was around then. That shows how values WBO was.

Let me clarify, when I say unified/undisputed, I'm talking about holding all the MAJOR belts in a division at the same time. WBA, WBC, IBF, at least. And if you want to throw WBO in there, sure.

I understand you can unify and have 2 belts. But I'm talking about owning all the belts in a division at the same time.

Floyd has won all the belts, but to my knowledge, he's never fought in a bout where all the recognized belts in a division were in the line

The comparison is still valid for their names on Roy's resume. Not the fighter, but the name. I don't include Berto and Mitchell when talking about Floyds resume.

The Shane Floyd, Canelo and Pac fought, was just a name. Coming off a solid win against a cheater, but Shane was still a name. Again, Cotto has shown some resilience, but he wasn't the same.

De La Hoya. Do you think DLH was what he once was? I understand the weight, gloves and fighting DLH on his terms, but still. I mean come on, he arguably lost to Steve Forbes. I think DLHs last real win was Mayorga.

Mosleys last real win was Marg
DLH last real win was Mayorga.
Cotto showed resiliency, but at the time, this fight between Cotto was heavily criticized.

I compare the above 3 to Tito and Lacy because when they fought Shane and Roy all, outside Cotto, were at the very end of their respective careers

Well in that case no he hasn't.

It's arguable, about the WBO. Many didn't consider it one of the legt belts at the time but that is arguable.

Dariasz however was considered a legit fighter with the belt.

            Again, poor comparison.

Not all fighters who are passed their primes are in the same category.

Virgil Hill, Reggie Johnson, passed it but still top ranked fighters. Hill #1, Johnson #3

Mosley, Cotto, De La Hoya; passed it but still top ranked fighters. Mosley #1, Cotto #1, De La Hoya #5.

Jeff Lacy and Tito Trinidad were passed it former champs and unranked.

Similar to Andre Berto and Sharmba Mitchell.

All of the above not at their best but at different levels in their careers.

Mosley Cotto De La Hoya are comparable to Hill, Johnson could possibly through McCallum in there.

Lacy and Tito more comparable to Berto and Mitchell as I mentioned.

True. And Dariusz dropped all of his legit belts to hold on to a title (WBO) whose organization his promoter had a comfy relationship with.

When I talk about Mayweathers resume, I don't mention Berto or Mitchell. Do you?

You're walking a thin line with ranking, name and caliber fighter...

                Let's see..

Johnson went on to arguably beat Tarver and beat Gonzales.

Hill went on to beat Tiozzo, who is arguably a HOF, Lalonde and Brudov.

Mosley went on to beat no one.

De La Hoya went on to beat Steve Forbes in a bout most would say he lost.

So no, these aren't fair comparisons.

A fair comparison for you would be Pac. Pac, albeit, over the hill, went on to have descent wins after Floyd.

Tito, Lacy, Shane and DLH should be clumped together regardless of rankings because all 4 fighters were at the very end of their careers and went on to accomplish zilch after their respective bouts with Roy/Floyd.

They were names, that's all they were. Ghosts of what they use to be.

Rjj was a bit if a phenomenon. He is greater.
Floyd tried getting things nearly all the time in his favour which isn't the way too achieve greatness. Your supposed to give advantages away and still win r.. That's how you get great.

RJJ is a top 20 all time P4P fighter. Mayweather is a top 3 all time P4P fighter. #1 and #2 of this era though for sure.
