of course hes gonna say that,,,,he promotes canelo

and the premise of ggg just being a puncher is just wishful thinking on bernards part

hopkins is worried ggg is gonna surpass his record of 20 middleweight title defences

Canelo will have plenty of time to settle in and earn Golovkin's respect

this is actually ridiculous, Canelo will earn Golovkin's respect in round 1

that fight will be a boxing match

Golovkin will be a good boy and keep them hands at home when he realizes how sharp Canelo is
I hope you're right. Fans want to see a competitive fight.

I know what you mean, it can go both ways, what if ggg isn't fast enough to land and if he lands, what if Canelo is unfazed? In that scenario, ggg will lose 100% of the time as I believe Canelo has the superior skills, and will outbox ggg comfortably.... its kind of what b hop is saying. Ggg has the ultimate equalizer which is his power, but if Canelo nullifies that, what's next for ggg to do? I think that's the only way ggg can win this fight, by ko/tko. Canelo wins any other scenario.

bitter old man hopkins has nothing going on in his life now that he quit boxing so he's scared GGG will make him irrelevant by taking his record

KK: Not directed at you, or anyone specifically really. I know you know boxing. More of a general sentiment about alot of fan logic in general. Lemieux is a limited slugger with concussive power; He's not a bum, and while I would be hard-pressed to call anyone who steps in the ring a bum, you could call the first 15 or so opponents of David "bums". Did he lose to Rubio and Alcine? Yes, but those were just fights that exposed his limitations at that point of his career. I don't view N'Dam as a bum and Lemieux beat him. These guys are fringe contenders, occasional title challengers, gatekeepers and litmus tests. Elite fighters beat these guys unless the elite are unprepared, over confident, unlucky or aren't truly elite. In my opinion Rosado is a level or two below and Geale at the time was probably at a level between Davide and Gabe.

GGG isn't a god and his haters and nut-huggers annoy me equally. He is a dominant offensive fighter with some limitations and a good chin; and those fighters typically look overwhelming against everyone but the very good and elite skilled opposition (see Mike Tyson). Thats why he struggled against Danny Jacobs, not because of weight or "getting old". I don't buy that GGG let Kell Brook, or Willy Monroe, land those punches that he did. Anyway, I view both Canelo and GGG in similar fashion, they both look fantastic when matched well and have had weaknesses exposed when not (Trout, Lara, Jacobs, etc.). I view it as a pick'em fight. In a way, I think this fight tells us more about Canelo than it does about GGG.

Anyway, this is just my way of saying lets look at these guys as what they are not what we want or not want them to be. Just because a guy has some "Ls" doesn't make them a bum....

Its not calling someone a bum to analize gggs resume against the moronic claims his fans make when shîtting on canelos record.

GGG is a better and more versatile boxer than Canelo. You don't win all those top level amateur fights ... two Pan Asian and one World Championship gold, plus Olympic silver, unless you can really box. He has a better jab than Canelo and much better footwork, plus height and reach.

I see GGG's jab winning the fight for him. Canelo may have faster hands than Golovkin, but so did Jacobs. Jacobs also had good movement, plus a 3 inch height and 7 inch reach advantage, but it didn't stop GGG finding him with the jab all night. I see GGG busting Canelo up with his jab, the same way he did with Lemieux. Canelo will probably land more counters than Lemieux, but he doesn't have the power at 160 to hurt Golovkin, who has a chin of granite.

The only way I see GGG losing to Canelo is via corrupt Vegas judges, if it goes the distance, which might happen, because Canelo also has a very good chin. He has never faced anybody with the power and accuracy of Golovkin though.

I tried it. GGG nodded at Canelo after taking that hook, then grinned and beckoned him to come have another go.
