I'm not posting on NSB until Loma fights good opponent

Davis, Garcia, Linares, Rigo, Berchelt, Corrales etc
That's most disappointing news in boxing now. **** Arum, Salido or anybody responsible for that. They make Loma wasting his prime years. A lot of people love to see Loma talent getting ruined like that but I'm not one of them. He could fight Marriaga 3-4 years later when hes out of prime BUT NOT NOW. Marriaga, Sosa...thats basically Walters leftovers...Lomachenko has to fight leftovers of his own leftover...Plus Usyk.might not join this CW tournament...**** that is too depressing. Arum doesn't give a **** about Lomachenko, he's gonna waste his potential, you better forget about Lomachenko he shouldn't be in any p4p lists at this point

Like I said in the other thread, I will join in the criticism of Team Lomachenko if he fights another showcase level opponent after Marriaga.

    I promise I will.

But here's what's going on. The reality whether we like it or not. Bob is just beginning this new platform -- this new ESPN/Top Rank venture. THIS fight in particular, is purely a showcase. He wants to introduce Lomachenko to all the non-hardcore fight fans who wouldn't get premium cable channels just for boxing, but will watch if it's on ESPN. He wants it to be a showcase. Thus Marriaga. Davis/Garcia/Linares/Rigo are all big fights. Mikey already has a fight lined up (and doesn't Davis too?). If it were to be Linares or Rigondeaux...I don't see how it's possible to get a contract done and having a fight of that magnitude take place just some THIRTY-FIVE days from now. It's not possible.

Like I said, I will reserve judgment, because I get this from a business standpoint. It's natural to want to showcase Lomachenko here to a largely new audience.

We'll see what happens next. If dude fights another Marriaga/Sosa level guy then I'll be the first motherf**ker on here questioning Team Lomachenko. I swear.

Same here....The problem is that Lomachenko HAS to waste his prime years and sacrifice them for Arum's plans

There's slightly more than a month left until the fight. Salido negotiations wasted a ton of time, at this moment there's no way any high level boxer will agree to take a Loma fight on a 5 week notice.

Complaining about this fight is silly, as is blaming either Arum or Loma. Holding this against Loma specifically is absolute bull****. His last 2 opponents were in top 5 of their division, and his resume at 8 fights craps on everyone else's, ever.

I'm not blaming Lomachenko for that, I just hate this whole situation

Loma is high on my PFP list for what he has already done as a pro and how good he has looked doing it. Without knowing the details it's hard to know why he isn't getting better fights. He has already fought plenty of dangerous guys like Walters, Russell Jr and Salido. He and his team seem bold enough. Rigo claims he will go to 130 to fight Loma but I doubt he means it. I am a fan of Rigo and I think he is great too. But Rigo has always refused to fight above 122 and now all of a sudden he will go to 130? If he doesn't fight Loma will he fight any other champion like Santa Cruz above 122? I read on boxing scene that Salido turned down over 700,000 dollars to rematch Loma so how bad does he want the rematch? It may not be Loma's fault he isn't getting better fights right now. He sure hasn't been a cherry picker up till now.

How about the guy who just beat Marriaga? Why put Loma in with someone coming straight off a loss at this stage? Bull**** matchmaking from Arum. It's been obvious for months that Salido would be difficult to get in the ring so he should have had a solid backup plan
