Valdez isn't ready. Corrales is fighting Castellanos in July. Winner of that will probably be next.

    I'm not panicking

Corrales already turned down Lomachenko once and is now signed with Golden Boy. He'll more likely be facing Berchelt next, or at least some other in-house fighter like Miura or Vargas. Salido was the only interesting opponent available to Loma at 130 so all that's left now is to move up again or bring up some smaller guys

Valdez beat up the guy who Loma will now be facing so that makes him ready in my eyes. Why face the loser instead of the winner?

This. I think both these guys would love that fight, but the promoter is invested in both guys sooo..

And the fact that most fans likely would argue against that even making sense I'd imagine is one of the problems with how much power promoters have in the boxing business today. And Arum rightfully isn't making that fight now cuz he's in the business of building products to sell & not quality boxing cards as should be the main if not only job of a promoter.

Respect to Marriaga doe on getting this fight. He's a entertaining guy that I'll always root for even if I'm picking against him in his biggest fights.

And cmon man what is this silly boxing logic people use. Fighter A beats Fighter B. Fighter C needs an opponent. Calls Fighter B cuz Fighter A isn't ready. Wtf is that?

Complaining about this fight is silly, as is blaming either Arum or Loma. Holding this against Loma specifically is absolute bull****. His last 2 opponents were in top 5 of their division, and his resume at 8 fights craps on everyone else's, ever.
I don't disagree strongly with any of this except the part about blaming Arum & I agree 100% with most of it & Loma for sure would fight anyone at or around his weight I tend to believe he probably gives no f#cks & rightfully so.

The Arum thing doe cmon man. This isn't Arum's first rodeo. He knew Salido wouldn't be easy to nail down. If he didn't go in knowing he didn't need a plan B so much as a plan A1 & A2 cuz Salido wouldn't be easy to make then Arum needs to have Bob Jr start to shop for an assisted living facility for him.

He's being built up. You all know how the business side works yet you choose to ignore it when it suits you.

Cause you have a little over a month to promote it. Arum isn't matching his 2 star Olympians together with no build up and no money involved.

He's not fighting those guys within the next 12 months. This isn't really a problem of time.

Did Rigo turn down the fight? Was he even legit offered the fight?
