Anyway you look at it. It was still bad sportsmanship on Sergey Kovalev's part to feign injuries in order to get a breather and get point deductions or possibly a disqualification loss for Andre Ward based on a lie.

That was wrong on his part. While I am glad that he has apologized and actually owned up to it; The damage done to Ward's reputation remains.

He still won't get his just due or proper credit for his knockout stoppage victory over Kovalev and Sergey is the one solely responsible for that.

He has now turned his entire fan base against Andre Ward based on a lie. You win graciously and then you lose graciously. The things that he are saying at the current moment should have been said immediately after the fight and not now.

A six foot tall man who is 30+ years old in the business of exhausting a tremendous amount of energy and strength over a 30+ minute period shouldn't have to break down all that weight.
People think its so easy to re hydrate but you only have 35 hours
to get that done.
If your best sparring is at 188-90lbs the damage on your body getting to 175 then back is draining!

I have preached to go back to same day weigh ins to eliminate the extreme weight drain to try and gain and upper hand in size!
Boxing has dropped the championship rounds to 2 instead of 5 for safety reasons but the unhealthy practices that are allowed regarding weight busting is still allowed.
Re hydrating 20 to 25 pounds as a light heavy champ or contender is adding to much above the limit.
Health should be a huge part of protection in boxing but it hasn't been that way universally.

John David Jackson was probably rooting for Ward.What Kovalev needed was a better conditioning coach, I would have contacted Alex Ariza or Memo Hernandez if I really wanted to win the fight. Had he had better conditioning he would have one fight one by KO and probably won fight 2 . He was looking for a way out with the low blow because he was dead tired as the say dead man walking

Yeah you are right. That was the main reason why Kovalev just admitted to getting his ass kicked twice by Andre Ward due to excessive fouling as opposed to poor conditioning, bad training habits and his physical endurance diminishing due to the shedding of weight to become better than Ward.
