I know it's gotta be difficult to join Hunter but it's a very wise choice because he gets to be around Ward, he can spar Ward and work on some of his weaknesses, namely his lack of an inside game.

It's obvious he got tired but he should be commended for not mentioning the fouls any more. At least he's willing to try and get better. I say he's a questionable 1-1 vs. Ward and nobody else in the world is, so that's quite an accomplishment.

Kovalev will test any new trainer if they don't break him nicely then toss him

Bruh you have got to be kidding me. Kovalev and Hunter would make heads explode on both sides of the debate lol.

Well of that is true then he should have mentioned it in that article but he didn't. He blamed the lost to Ward solely due to his bad training habits and poor conditioning. He never mentioned or breath a single word about low blows.

He simply said quote" I need a new specialist, because I made it to this level with all I know. In order for me to jump to the next level, and become better than Ward, I need help of a professional".

In other words, he's conceding that Andre Ward is the better fighter and that he cannot defeat him at this stage of his career.

if kovalev really made these comments, any appeal made about an early stoppage and low blows looks weaker

I bet the Ward Hater's will add a weight drained Kov to Ward's resume now.

You realize these "articles" are usually just pieces of a larger interview right? It doesn't matter whether he said the low shots affected him or not, they still happened. A foul is a foul.

I'm a Ward fan but Kovalev is right on this one, about the weight that is, not firing John David Jackson.

Kovalev is a big light heavyweight and I suspect that if he makes the jump in weight he will bring the power with him. I can also guarantee when his contact is up with Duva, he dumps her as well.
