At this point, his weight drain talk just sounds like excuses. He was just talking about how great he was feeling before the fight, and how it's different from last time - then he goes and starts gassing after 6th again.

He's gonna get killed at CW too. That weight jump is too much - a great defensive fighter can pull it off because they don't get hit.

I think more like he lies about how hard his cuts are to not show weakness. He's a huge LHW and Duva admitted a couple years ago he goes through hell to make 175.

He lied. He wasn't hurt due to any low blows. He was just worn down physically to the point of exhaustion due to Ward's relentless body assault and decided to mentally check out. He feigned those low blows in order to get a breather and to keep Ward off of him.

That's why he sat on those ropes in order for Tony Weeks to call a halt to that bout because he was a broken fighter who was looking for a way out. Finally the truth has come out now.

          The fake mutha!

I don't know which fight you where watching, but the one I saw and have seen several times, Kovalev was the aggressor the whole fight and HE was winning the fight, if Kovalev stopped trowing punches Ward would give him a break, also, some of the body punches where low, go and watch the fight and you will see, Kovalev was fading but ward was also breathing trough his mouth, Kovalev didn't stop in any of the rounds being the aggressor and that last round was the one that changed the tide, still Ward made a heck of a fight aside from the dirty tactics he used, that he didn't need to, he fought beautifully, the KO would have come later but would have come even if he didn't use his dirty tactics, what I don't understand is if Kovalev was getting hit low, why he didn't try to do the same, I would have power punched his balls to get the respect needed, still Tony Weeks robbed Ward of a fantastic ending and that's what bothers most the boxing community and there will always be that * on both fights, not because Ward would have KO Kova, but we didn't get to see it happen and because we didn't see it happen because Weeks"peeleft: on us all, there will always be that debate.

Well if he and Jackson aren't on the same page anymore, I guess that's the next step. Not sure if Kovalev's power will measure up to the CW ****ers, but he can only try after reaching his peak at LHW. Just a shame the Stevenson and Beterbiev fights never happened. At least LHW has some good names to pick up the absence – Beterbiev, Gvozdyk, and Jack.

Slightly off-topic, but on the subject of fighters switching trainers after a loss(es), I still think Khan should've stuck with Roach instead of hiring Hunter. That was a formidable fighter/trainer pairing. The Peterson loss was largely PED-influenced, and the Garcia loss was a mix of Khan being his usual dumbass self, and underestimating him.

That's what I was thinking. It's not broke, so it doesn't need to be fixed. He's still a Top #3 LHW. He just needs to twerk a few things. Hunter would be perfect. He already has most of the tools Hunter likes. A great jab, decent power, a good chin.
