dominated and easily beat Cotto who was a top 5 P4P on everybody's rankings just 18 months ago. Chocalito lost, Ward has 2 controversial wins, GGG has looked shaky in his last 2 fights with many feeling he lost to Jacobs. If Canelo dominates GGG who is #2 on a lot of these lists he will have a argument for that spot. Same with GGG if he dominates Canelo. If either guy wins but it's a close fight Ward easily is #1. There is no Mayweather right now, a guy head and shoulders above everyone else.

I'm pretty sure Cotto wasn't top 5 p4p when Canelo beat him.

Canelo with a win moves from top 5-10 to2 or 3 (depending on Chocolatito result).

Golovkin is already at 2, so with a win he either stay there or he moves up.

Golovkin and Ward could swap spots after each has a fight for a while honestly.

I agree 100% If Canelo wins, it's a better win than either of those guys have on their resume. I also feel that if Mikey Garcia beats Broner, it won't make him P4P #1, but he should be ranked higher than Lomachenko and Crawford!

Once he beat Sergio who was highly ranked he was on everybody's top 10 rankings and somewhere around 4-8 depending who you want to go by. Beating Cotto was what put Canelo on everybody's top 10 rankings. You can't find a reputable top 10 ranking right now that doesn't include Canelo. I just named 2 lists Boxrec has him #1 and ESPN has him #5 P4P.
