  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo-Golovkin Winner is No. 1 Pound-for-Pound

NEW YORK Oscar De La Hoya believes Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will fight for more than millions of dollars and four middleweight titles. According to "The Golden Boy," the winner of their September 16 bout won't just leave the T-Mobile Arena ring in Las Vegas with the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBC 160-pound championships Golovkin currently owns. De La Hoya, a retired six-division champion, feels the Mexican superstar and the Kazakh knockout artist also will fight for boxing's mythical pound-for-pound crown.

Andre Ward just proved Andre Is boxing Best P4Per no doubt

No reason to even have a top P4P list as Andre Ward is #1 by far. If GGG somehow beats Canelo maybe GGG is number two. But Andre is the best in Boxing right now. Ward just proved it. Even with Weeks brotherly help.

I don't think they'll be #1. Probably #2 or #3. If Chocolatito can avenge his loss against the Thai and then go on to beat the winner of Cuadras v Estrada. He could be #1 but...

Right now I believe Ward is #1. If Chocolatito avenges his loss he'll be #2. Winner of GGG v Canelo is #3. If Chocolatito loses again GGG v Canelo winner is #2.

If Canelo beats GGG he should skip all the way to #2 imo. Kovalev, Rigo, Lomachenko, Crawford, Gonzalez haven't beaten an opponent like GGG.
