ESPN rankings have GGG #2 Canelo #5 on their P4P list. The winner will without a doubt be at worst #2 P4P ranked and it will be debatable with Ward on who should be #1. Some are still bytching that Ward is now #1 after 2 controversial fights. To me it all depends on how Canelo/GGG plays out. If either guy squeaks by a close fight then I give the nod to Ward. But if Canelo or GGG completely dominates their fight then I can see a case being made for grabbing the top spot.

Canelo ain't even a top ten p4p fighter imo, a win for Golovkin over him does relative little to advance him to fifth let alone second behind Ward.

the thing is this. Kovalev was never a p4p fighter. he was always beneath GGG in terms of resume. Jacobs Lemiuex > Pascal and 50 yr old hopkins (neither can punch)
GGG and Canelo are fighting for P4P supremacy. both of them in the top 5
