This is the second to last punch. Look at the photo closely, it is Kovalev's white glove that is on his own beltine trying to defend. You cannot see Ward's glove, which is red by the way, because it is right in Kovalev's nuts at that moment.

Agreed, the last gif CLEARLY shows that he was hit right in the nutsack. As per the correct rules Weeks should have given Kov 5 mins to recover and given Ward a verbal warning as he had already been warned I think it was the 2nd round for an accidental low blow. Which would've ****** for Ward undoing all his good work from that big right hand he landed earlier in the round, but if this was being reffed correctly that should have been the sequence of events.

All-in-all Ward was taking over this fight and the only interesting thing would've been to see if he could've got Kov out of there clearly. The stoppage though at this stage of the fight was bad as that last punch that finished Kov off was right in the balls and strictly speaking not a legal blow.

You're right and even though it wasn't a stoppage, Chavez Jr's performance against Canelo was a total embarrassment. After the "fight", Jr. goes out drinking and gets hustled on camera of his fight purse and $40k watch. What a disgrace. The guy should be called Chuckles from now on. Forget Chavez. Ok, so be it!...What a wrongness towards Judah in his Mayweather fight then!!! How masterfully caught he Mayweather with perfect "borderline" shot. Just one "borderline" shot - not a combination of them - folded Mayweather who stopped defending himself, doubled over and "turned his back to his opponent". Cong****, Zab, great inside game, you broke him mentally and physically!!! Unfortunaly, referee acted unprofessionally, he gave Mayweather several minutes to recover and robbed you of deserved KO victory

..... is it possible that Tony Weeks may have given Ward the benefit of the doubt regarding that last punch..... considering the fact that Kovalev was done..... but especially considering the fact that he caught Kovalev attempting to fake a foul off two LEGIT body-shots moments earlier..... ?

I agree that the fight was stopped too early. Championship bouts should have a higher standard of when to pull the plug.
