Kell Brook is a very skilled and talented all-rounder. He was endorsed from the start of his career by everyone at the Wincobank gym, including ex champs like Naseem Hamed and Johnny Nelson heaping praise on him. The feeling in Britain was always when, not if, he'd become a World champion. He fulfilled his potential without any serious setbacks.

Once he won his title it was apparent he'd outgrown the Welterweight division and he should have moved up to Super Welterweight. However, Eddie Hearn seized the chance to steal the Gennady Golovkin fight off the Eubanks' and threw Kell under the bus for a big payday and future leverage. Kell suffered career-altering injuries in that defeat and psychological frailties were uncovered.

Defending the IBF title against Errol Spence Jr. was also a terrible move in hindsight. He should have vacated the title and took a full 12 months off before coming back in a few tune up fights at 154 lbs. In recent times Kell has also started ballooning in weight similar to how Ricky Hatton used to later in his career. That is a bad sign for a fighter who used to be in great shape 24/7 in his younger days.

The spence fight was the do or die fight that would either project him to a world class level or expose him for being a bum. He failed the test.

Far too soft for world level boxing

so hes crap now he lost to golovkin and spence im pretty sure he gave spence all he could handle, but spence pulled through in the end and was the better man on the night. That doesnt suddenly mean brook was no good. If hes not much good then why did he give spence such a hard nights work? Ive heard so much bull**** about that fight, i rememebr in the round by round thread people were saying spence was getting exposed when it hit the midway point, now the narrative has somehow changed into the fight being a one sided domination.

He had potential, but wasted his career fighting bums, and calling out Khan

One good win on his record, and two big losses...

If he continues to fight, he should change trainers and work on his defense

If he heals up i wouldn't mind seeing him again at 154. He's good. Made a bad career move going to middleweight. Was beat at 147 by a guy who seems to be special. We'll see what he has left.

The guy who beat him isnt even in his prime and has a lot of defensive flaws, yet still beat Brook in to submission

It depends on how you rated Brook. I always thought he was world level and for a period (before Thurman unified and after Pac "retired") the top welter.

Even in the Spence fight, you could see his skillset was better than the challengers BUT it's not always about skills. A lot of the time, especially in boxing, it is about toughness and grit and like I said after the GGG fight (and somewhat after the Jones fight) Brook has a yellow streak in him. Just like Matthysse, Ortiz and possibly Mikey.

Brook is a very good fighter he just lost to two beasts.
One he really had no business getting in the ring with.

Idk why people can't give him credit he was one of few legitimate world champions who beat Porters ass handily on foreign soil. He has never avoided any mandatory or anybody in the sport, period.
Took a crazy risk going upto MW to fight GGG and gave a pretty damn good account of himself, dropped back down and fought Spence when everyone said he wouldn't and was on pretty even terms rather than give his belt up. Got both his orbital bones broken and once again he is looking to come back and take on one of the best.

People put too much on winning records. When you fight the guys you're supposed to you'll take Ls sooner or later.
Brooks a quality fighter and probably the second best at Welterweight. Yes I think he'd beat Thurmans ass from pillar to post. Lets see that guy fight GGG and Spence, see how he gets on.
