1) Brook didn't whoop Porter. He won a close fight.
2) Thurman didn't do much better against Porter, again, won a close fight
- so far that's Thurman and Brook equal
3) Spence didn't destroy Brook (at least not the Brook that faught Porter). Spence struggled to work Brook out over the first 6 before the weight caught up with him, and Brook faded into a dead man walking.
What we have is Spence beating a greatly weight diminished version of Brook that Porter never met.
So any conclusions about how Spence does against Thurman can't be drawn. However, here goes:
a) Styles make fights. Thurman is more stand up and box than Brook was tonite. Brook made it an awkward fight for Spence over the first 6 with his falling in, and Spence never quite got the foot placement to beable to deal with it cleanly. Thurman doesn't fight that way, which plays more to Spence's strengths
b) Porter however is awkward as hell, and might actually give Spence more problems than Thurman
c) Spence learned a lot from this fight, he didn't look that great, but he's going to improve (he learned what he needs to work on)
Conclusion: Thurman/Spence would be a great fight. Previously I would have picked Spence, but now I'm 50/50.
conclusion 2: Porter might beat SpenceComment

i am gutted brook lost but spence was the better man and i think spence can fight even better than he showed tonight
i think brook needs to think about retirement because thats both eyes now that have took serious damage im not sure they will ever hold up enough for him unless he avoids serious punchers and since thats not his style to take the easy road best call it a day aint no shame being a world champion and losing to maybe the next best welterweight of this new eraComment

I agree. I predicted Spence to massacre Brook, but Brook was really giving it to him hard in the first half of the fight until he started slowing down in the second half of the fight. I don't see Spence beating Thurman.Comment

The fight changed completely after 6.
Brook went from comfortable and outboxing Spence to slow and stationary. You saw it in the corner of the 7th round, Brook said something to his trainer who saw the camera and told Brook 'don't say anything'.Comment

He'd beat both. Thurman will be stopped, but Porter will lose by decision.
No one can beat this kid at 147. Period. And he's getting better...Comment
