If Golovkin beats Canelo Alvarez on September 16, an immediate rematch with the Mexican superstar could tie up Golovkin for more than a year from now overall. Even then, Jacobs doesn't think Golovkin will embrace a rematch with him because Jacobs gave Golovkin such a tough time March 18 at Madison Square Garden.

A shame Jacob's didn't make the most of his chance. He didn't leave it all on the line. He was fine with the moral victory of being able to take Golovkin's shots flush, and not be hurt. He stood there yelling after being hit, instead of punching back. He also let a slower, less athletic fighter, outjab him. He lost fair and square. Talking **** after the fact is kinda of weak in my opinion.

I was able to watch this fight in a good spot without distractions, and after the second or third round grabbed pen and paper. I ended up with Jacobs ahead by 1. I've only seen the fight once.

BUT, this fight was similar to so many others we've seen in that sometimes a fighter wins on points, but really does end up loosing the war. And I say that coming from someone who prefers the aggressive puncher style vs the slick boxer. I've seen it, we've seen it, it's happened so often. And they're always close ass contests when it happens.

Jocobs lost the war IMO. He sustained more damage while looking a full weight class above. But he wasn't being controlled, and did his thing on many occasions. I have no beef with anybody who thinks GGG won, could have gone either way, but this was a very close fight.

Oh, and to address the article - - **** NO he's not getting that rematch!! lol

I absolutely would not have been ok with Jacobs fighting another Cab Driving Tomato can. 2 fights with Sergio Mora were more than enough.

I think Jacobs would take them both if he fought like he did against GGG. His reach advantage would be too much.

Plus I think he trains with Khurtsidze and that other russian dude in Brooklyn.

lil g only has canelo in his sights for 1 $reason$ only plus his team said that maybe he'll rematch Jacobs in about 5 fights down the road, now why not right after the canelo fight????? Cuz you know after the canelo fight you cant fight anymore bums. He's got a hand-full with guys like the Charlo brothers and so on to mix it up with not no bum a** bily joe "who".
And whom is Jacobs going to be fighting until he fights GGG? GGG already has his fight lined up. What's going on with Jacobs? I'll tell you what. Nothing. Mother****er fought his a$$ off but now he's just content to live off the GGG fight. GGG will continue fighting top guys while Jacobs will talk about not getting KO'ed by GGG for the rest of his life.

So true. Most guys do a lot of posturing after fighting Golovkin. It's like a badge of courage or something. Time for Danny to get over the loss and move on.

                    • We all know Jacobs, never seen a champion as hyped as Golovkin is not get crap for ducking a rematch with another fellow fighter who gave him as close as a fight as there was!

There was no running or wrestling just straight good ol boxing and teaching Golovkin a lesson from The Miracle Man himself!

I think Jacobs does a much better job in a rematch and likely beats him next time I can see somethings he can tweak to secure the victor(like going downstairs more often and earlier in the fight and actually sit down a bit more on his punches which is partially why he wasn't doing as much damage as he could've)
