Roy Jones said it during the fight. He worked on a gameplan for months with Nacho and couldn't execute it in the ring. When that happened Jr. is not a good enough fighter to adjust so he was just a deer in headlights.

There were times where Chavez had Canelo on the ropes and just stood there without pulling the trigger.

On the other hand, Chavez Sr is too proud a man to let his son throw a fight and embarrass the name.
What bothered me most was every time they got head to head in close, Kenny Bayless would start yelling at them to watch their heads, and then Chavez would back off.

It was pretty cool, it was likely the best fight announcement i'll ever see in my lifetime, like the way it was done. Obviously Mayweather vs Pacquiao was the best in general but the way this was done was unique. It would've been fun if GGG had come out running with a steel folding chair and come in the ring and hit Canelo with it, but with Canelo putting his forearm on the way like pro wrestlers do, and just fall and "ko". Then GGG grabs the mic and tells him he wants him in September and turns heel. Canelo recovers shortly after GGG leaves the ring and tells Kellermen and the fans that he accepts the challenge and GGG will pay for what he did.

I can't believe that some hardcores actually fell for it

I'm delighted that Canelo is finally facing Golovkin now but his last three fights have been inexcusable
Chavez quiting to stop a one way beating late in the fight was always possibility but nobody thought he would quit and not even try after 1 round in. Again people thought he would lose but everyone thought you would get exciting fireworks before that happened. Their styles neither one a runner should of made for action. I have no doubt golden boy felt confident canelo would win but I don't think even they thought chavez would not try as soon as the bell rang. It was about a round in where chavez knew he couldn't handle canelo and he quit didn't even try. No clue why people trying to put that on golden boy or canelo or anybody else. The disgrace is on chavez.

Because it was a mismatch. When an opponent knows they can't win, they often become negative. And Chavez Jr in particular hardly has a reputation as a warrior. Match-making 101

It's ****** to blame a crap fighter for ****ting the bed. The buck always has to stop with the promoter

I'm speaking from what I saw at the event hall I was at yesterday. And the music was loud so people couldn't hear what was said after the fight.
A whole lotta causal fans know ggg... it's pretty pathetic that you always find a way to take a shot at him even when he had nothing to do with it.

If you're a casual fan and you don't know the history of the GGG-Canelo fight and Chavez Jr career, then this would look fishy to you. This is the first Canelo fight since Floyd that a lot of people threw fight parties and made an event around the fight. A lot of people I was around who are casual fans thought this fight was a fix.

Not a good look for the sport to have people coming away thinking that. Another black eye for boxing.
Because they are casuals. Everytime chavez threw he got countered. So he stopped throwing to survive 12 rds.

No they don't. I've yet to see one GGG fight party. Bruh just stop. I saw several bars and clubs throwing fight party last night. You in the house. I'm actually out here.

Actually it's finals so I had to watch from a stream from the library. Paying 70 dollars to watch someone fight, is much different than just knowing the name.
