You think wilder is as skilled as joshua?

I know what you mean. No worries.

I love Deontay Wilder by the way. IMO both he and Joshua are the two best Heavyweights in the division.

A fight between those two would be the biggest in boxing since Lewis vs Tyson.

I just think he can be even better than he is now. I just want him to be the best he can be and succeed. But ultimately regardless of what I think or anyone else he's going to do what he feels is best for him. But I always wish him the best.

I'm just happy the Heavyweight division is BACK

        Exciting times again at Heavyweight

Great post. I agre that it would be a great fight and a good test for Wilder. Not sure who i go with there but Joshua go hit by Wlad a few times. If he catches a Wilder right, he's done. Then again, we don't know how good Wilders chin is and AJ is an animal himself

            Absolutely, I agree 100%

Both guys can hurt each other. For me Joshua-Klitschko was more comparable to Lewis-Klitschko.

But Joshua-Wilder is definitely the Lewis-Tyson of today.

The boxing world, their promoters and both fighters need to make this fight happen.

Good post man, agreed. Hopefully we both see it soon

I havent read through all the answers yet, but I dont see why people rate Wilder so highly. He didnt really struggle that much, but he lost rounds against subpar opposition. A boxer who is seen as one of the top contenders shouldnt lose rounds against guys like szpillka and Washington.
In addition to that, even though Wilder has a good reach and is awkward, he isnt exactly hard to hit. Klitschko was hard to hit, because of his jab and clinching tactics, but Joshua was still able to get to Klitschko.

He didnt look perfect and was hurt and gassed against klitschko, but as long as wilder continues to fight average opponents, he shouldnt be rated higher than joshua.

Dropped him 3 times, 2 of them heavy, and stopped him.

                  Couldn't hurt him....sure.

lets see if wilder is confident enough to load up on shots against joshua. theres a difference in quality between joshua and wilder, that should be clear to anyone who watches boxing. joshua is on a different level.

But will the likely strength advantage of Joshua negate Wilder's ability to follow up? I'd also imagine Joshua would likely take centre ring and could put Wilder in reverse (though I appreciate the Spzillka KO was class).

I also agree with the poster who said Joshua's legs seem to go to concrete when hurt and Wilder would love that.

But for me, Joshua could probably take centre ring and work successfully behind a jab and could probably beat Wilder up a little bit.

I could be underestimating Wilder but in fairness to myself even now he's hard to judge apart from knowing he can likely KO anyone. We know a lot more about Joshua than we do about Wilder already based on last night's fight.

As it stands, I'd rather be Joshua in the fight than Wilder.
We do know that Wilder is capable of using the ring, using movement and boxing on his toes.

If that's what we get, AJ coming forward and Deontay circling, then that is going to be advantage Wilder, who gets to jab and potshot.

AJ has to cut off the ring, back him into corners and not show the same carelessness he has exhibited in many of his fights when closing the distance.

Again, if Deontay is in any way able to walk AJ into the same type of shots Wlad was, if Deontay can get the same one-two combos in Wlad was, that's going to be a huge problem for AJ.

Which is why I am saying he should not be so quick to get in with Wilder until that defense gets tighter.
