AJ has to cut off the ring, back him into corners and not show the same carelessness he has exhibited in many of his fights when closing the distance.

Again, if Deontay is in any way able to walk AJ into the same type of shots Wlad was, if Deontay can get the same one-two combos in Wlad was, that's going to be a huge problem for AJ.

Which is why I am saying he should not be so quick to get in with Wilder until that defense gets tighter.
If I was Joshua I'd get in with him next, tbh because Wilder just as much as Joshua will improve if his competition goes up simply because if he doesn't he's getting taken out.

I take your arguments though and you can see it for Wilder with that kind of power. I do think Wlad is proven elite World class though so putting Wilder on equal footing with him at this stage for me means a bit of a leap of faith.

It is a good fight. I'd love to see it but I still don't know how good Wilder really is until he does it.

I am not putting Wilder anywhere near Wlad's skillset.

I am saying that we have seen Wilder's athleticism compensate for a multitude of technical flaws.

It has made him equal to any competition he has encountered on any level so far.

And against a guy with his own flaws like Joshua, it kind of evens things out or even tilts it in Wilder's favor, especially when you factor in factors like stamina.

Yes, Joshua has faced better competition but the gap isn't as wide as one would think.

Wlad is better than anyone else either has faced but after that the comp is pretty even.

They SHOULD fight in the next twelve months, there is no reason why not.

I think Wilder wants to fight, and comes to fight, more than Joshua.

Whoever lands clean first wins, I agree.

If they fight anytime soon, I'd favour Wilder to do that.

Wilder would be giving up anywhere from 20 to almost 30 lbs to AJ.

But, he would also enjoy an inch in height and reach over AJ.

Joshua is a young pro with good boxing skills & power, but he has to tighten up his defense. Wilder is an amateur with poor boxing skills & good power, and has much worse defense. There is a reason that we haven't seen Wilder in with top HWs. If and when he does face one like Joshua, he's toast.

If Dillian Whyte and Dominic Breazeale can go into the 7th round with AJ (one of them actually buzzing Joshua in the process), I don't think it is wise to categorically dismiss what Wilder might do.

I didn't say how long Wilder would last against AJ, just that he won't prevail.

If Wilder can land the same right hands Wlad did, it's AJ that will be toast.

And frankly, Wilder has gotten that right hand in against fighters displaying better defense than Joshua did Saturday.

Wilder's no Wladimir Klitschko. In fact, that's a fight I'd like to see; Wlad vs Deontay. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
