If Joshua Fights Wilder In The Next 12 Months...

Why is the onus on Joshua to improvements before he fights Wilder? Sure he needs work and Wilder is dangerous, but you'd swear we were talking about Wilder like he was some proven, top level fighter, as opposed to a guy who has far more questions to answer than Joshua himself.
Make no mistake, Wilder is the one making the massive step up here. He's consistently struggling against fringe level opposition since he become a title holder. He's shown no real improvements in the last two years.Comment

Not quite getting what you guys are saying, Joshua just fought his first top level guy, an ATG who came to fight his heart out. He did struggle for the middle rounds but it showed he can hang at that level.
Wilder hasn't fought near that level yet so we don't even know if he's even a top level guy. Wilder needs to fight a guy at the top level & then we can assess who needs to improve on what.
Joshua's flaws were demonstrated in that fight (too heavy which made him gas, not picking his shots, not taking the centre of the ring and pushing Wlad back etc.) but he'll learn so much from this that he'll be better than ever going forward.
Every comment saying Wilder will win is basically 'Wlad landed that right hand, if Wilder did he wouldn't get up' Wlad is one of the heaviest, most accurate punchers in heavyweight history & threw it with perfect technique, don't disrespect him & say Wilder would even land a right hand that clean down the pipe, I've seen nothing to indicate he's got that level of finesse.
Lastly, seems like everyone says about Wilder catching Joshua with a shot, so it sounds like Wilder has a punchers chance and not much else. Wilder doesn't have a great chin so it should be interesting if they get into a fire fight
We'll see within the next few years who's who.Comment

Very fair and objective analysis.Comment

That is good insight on Wilder and Joshua. I think that Joshua will get better but Wilder seems to be all he is gonna be. Maybe and maybe not but it's an interesting angle on the two fighters....he will lose to Deontay by KO.
Let me state right here that I think Joshua will, when all is said and done, be the best Heavy of this era.
But it was clear last night that he has a lot of work to do.
It is also clear to me that Wilder may never get any better skill-wise than he is right now.
But Deontay is hella athletic.
And one thing he seems to be able to do no matter what the level of opposition happens to be is deliver clean hard right hands.
I saw AJ get hit A LOT by Wlad's right hand.
Some of them extremely clean.
Some of them that hurt Anthony pretty badly.
And when it happened I couldn't help but thinking what it would be like if it was Deontay behind those right hands.
I don't think Anthony takes Wilder's shots nearly as well as he took Klitschko's last night.
And that equals a nap on the menu for AJ.
They MUST work on AJ's defense before a fight with the Tuscaloosa Terror.

Wilder has only fought bums, he might have a puncher's chance, but believe me that he will be in ***** Street before he can land anything.
This is not another uber driver he will be fighting, this is a real trained boxer!Comment
