You add that Golovkin and his camp have also made it clear that they apparently aren't willing to go down to 154lbs for anyone not Floyd Mayweather Jr, and bringing up Cotto as an option is a waste of time.

If the Alvarez fight falls through (which is likelier than folks want to acknowledge, for many reasons), Golovkin's options are slim
Why is Cotto a waste of time? Cotto fights at the end of June and Roach says he wants Golovkin. If the Sept. fight falls thru Cotto vs GGG in Sept. in NY is a good option. Rumor is both sides are talking.
If the money is right, you can forget about all the quotes about 154 etc. When big bucks are involved things written in stone have a way of crumbling quickiy.

Jacobs and Wade have similar frames, the both weighed in at 160lbs on the Friday, and Wade put on so much weight come the actual fight that he had visible rolls around his midsection. lol

I'm still not hearing actual data, as measured by a precision weighing machine we call a SCALE.

Golovkin and his camp have apparently walked away from a $10m+ offer that they've had in hand for some time now, and even then they weren't open to taking the fight at 155lbs against Alvarez.

In what world is a Cotto fight going to manifest with enough money to pay Cotto his money, pay Golovkin what his camp is pushing for, and then convince Golovkin to actually fight well below 159lbs (the lowest he's ever weighed in at as a professional in his decade long career).

How big a fight is Cotto vs Golovkin, from Madison Square Garden, really? Maybe 400k-500k PPV buys?

Freddie may like the fight, but why would Cotto ever choose to give up the lion's share of the take (Golovkin's camp are about the money, regardless of the media picture) to step into the ring with a man who has refused to go down even a pound for anyone not named Floyd, and will likely walk into the ring 15lbs heavier than him, when he could rather have his June fight, see how Marquez's return ends up going, and then split the pot with Marquez (a guy who is similar in size to him), for a similar size event (Cotto vs Marquez, with the Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry meaning what it does to older fans, both guys being name fighters, and the fight being competitive, likely does the sae 400k-500k PPV buys range)?

You may be right. We'll have to wait and see.

Jacobs lost the fight unanimously. He wasn't robbed; he tried, but failed to win the biggest fight of his career. Now his team is screaming immediate rematch. Why? Are you saying that your fighter wasn't ready for the biggest fight of his career & needs a do-over? Well, why the hell wasn't he ready??

It's the only fight that makes any sense if he cannot get Canelo. If the Canelo fight doesn't happen in September, I don't think it will happen at all.

It was a very close fight and there is not a better fighter at 160 then Jacobs..why not rematch and settle the score?
