And I don't buy that other story. Sure, GGG is probably more sore than normal after the Jacobs fight but they were very close to sealing the deal with Saunders before De LaHoya's annoucement. I think its a face saving move to make it seem less obvious how desperately they want the Canelo fight.
So you don't feel Jacobs is entitled to a rematch? Well you are part of a small minority that feels that way. Every sports writer that I've read said Jacobs is worthy of a rematch! We know GGG wants Canelo, but after that, GGG should grant Jacobs a rematch like the great champions before him have done! If not, the fans should hold him accountable!

... Heiland is fighting Jermal Charlo in a final eliminator for the WBC sot; if K2 is already ducking Jacobs, there's no way in the world that they even ponder targeting Charlo. Add that the IBF shot is likely in a pick 2 from Derevyanchenko/Johnson/Lemieux and I doubt that the interest in that aren't that great either.

NJikam makes sense, as the next WBA mandatory, but if Alvarez is committed to moving to middleweight, the Saunders fight is likely in the wind.

If given the choice of the Charlo-Heiland winner (likely Charlo), the Derevyanchenko-Johnson/Lemieux winner (lDerevyanchenko looks like the goods), and NJikam, I'm not sure how K2 navigates that without seeing Golovkin get beat.

Did Mora get his rematch? Did Jacobs fight someone else before the rematch? I can hear you now, "Yeah but..." And, oh yeah:

        December 6, 2015:

“I told him I love him. Me and Peter go back to the Golden Glove days. I respect him to death, but I knew this fight would be my night. There are no lucky shots in boxing. Obviously I caught him with a shot. Once I knew I had him hurt I kept going.

“I saw his eyes and it looked like his equilibrium was off. I’m not a referee, but if I was I probably would have still gave him another opportunity.”

The fight, which only lasted 1:25, begged the question of a potential rematch.

“I definitely would give him a rematch,” Jacobs continued. “I’m willing to fight him next if that’s what the fans want.”

          lol, nice try

Alvarez-Chavez Jr is having every indication of being the type of event set to breach 1m PPV buys (with Chavez Jr's preparation making it look like a good hotly contested fight), and the rematch gets more likely as the event closes in.

With Billy Joe Saunders looking elsewhere, K2 is on the verge of being faced with Jacobs as being the only viable option (after a fight that they almost got beat in).

Abel is going to huff and puff, but May/June is going to come around, Alvarez is going to offer even less money than the original offer, and K2 will end up seeing Daniel Jacobs as the only option to make money.

Saunders and Golovkin are both looking for cashouts, and Haymon's not known for being a dummy.

He'll look for the Golovkin fight, were it to come up, but he's got a fighter in Daniel Jacobs who he can take back to Barclays Center and put on the marquee with no issue.

the next non-Golovkin fight for Jacobs is likely vs Andy Lee in Brooklyn, and then you've got Rob Brant and a possible Peter Quillin rematch to look at (doubt that Jacobs fights any of the guys in his camp, so you can eliminate 3-5 names). Add on the fighters that Showtime is developing at 160/154, and Jacobs can "keep hitting doubles", earning good money out of Brooklyn, until a big event comes around.

Can't rematch a guy who isn't active. Quillin is on the shelf. You're missing the point though...the guy who won is willing rematch the loser. Doesn't seem to be the case with Golovkin Jacobs.

Amazing how fighters like GGG get no pressure. Fighters like Floyd, Andre, and Marquez get all the pressure into rematching close fights and even after beating them again, they still get hate.

I'm looking forward to the rematch... but I cringe every time Jacobs camp pretends like he got robbed.

My perfect MW match-ups for 2017...
Golovkin - BJS because MW belt unification in Kazakhstan at Expo 2017, it's an event
Canelo - Jacobs because I'm genuinely interested in this match-up and the GGG fight is over-marinated
Winner of those two matches meet in December for ALL THE BELTS and Lineal Champ title.

It'll never happen but I can dream right?

Ignorant or feigning ignorance I can't tell. Ward had absolutely no choice but to rematch Kovalev. He was contractually obligated.
On press row 3/4 of the scorecards had Kovalev winning, not Ward. Press row had a majority of scorecards in favor of Golovkin, not Jacobs.

Your comparison is lame and your "certain demographic" comment seems typical of a certain mentality.
