The "vague hints" as you called them were fairly specific. GB has said and it has been reported on numerous occasions that the offer was $15 million plus a small percentage upside. That assertion was never refuted by K2. As you undoubtedly know silence implies approval or consent, legally and otherwise. On your other point, I agree with you that you can't cure ******, but I would like to think that there is a young team of bright graduate students at M.I.T. developing an antidote for ******ity. So there is hope for me yet. Perhaps then I can be as bright as your good self.

how is this any different than yelling "anyone from 154-168" then telling ward, who everyone knows is looking at moving up, that youll fight him at 164(even though you wouldn't have made that fight either)?

its easy to talk about 168 when ward is on the sideline...and even when he returns you know hes prob going to 175 anyway......but how is that any different? remember the excuses "oh andre hasn't fought...nobody know who he is...its too difficult financially blah blah"

I would love to see canelo/ggg...but to be honest...I think its a bit funny that Oscar is playing the games...you know why? cause Oscar sees what k2 and golovkin are doing....and hes not about to give them a free ride on his company.......I honestly think it would be equal parts sad/funny to see golovkin have wasted/thrown away the last 3 years for a fight he never got....cause that's what hes done....hes been sniffing canelos panties for a couple of years now and basically done nothing noteworthy in the process(except nearly lose the one good fight he took)

Curt, you have to appreciate you are not comparing apples to apples. More like apples and pears. Golovkin went to Conela's fight to help build the one between them. If Conela was serious about this september, should Conela be doing the same thing and turn up at GGG-Jacobs?? After all, a couple months is not enough time to promote a fight that people have been talking about for years... (according to ODLH)

As for the the 154-168 claim, i think loud mouth Abel Sanchez pronounced that. I think GGG only agreed when asked about it. After all, who wouldn't smile, nod and say 'yep, i'll take them all on'

I am a boxing fan and man of principle. Boxing as a sport needs this fight. How many PPV fights have been FOTY in last 10 years? All fans are hoping this will change as GGG and CONela both have a come forward style and there will be fireworks and power shots galore. **** resumes etc, as a fan i want to see two top, exciting fighters fight each other in their prime, not when one of them is 37 years old.

Likewise, not refuting a statement by another person does not mean you are confirming it as true.

Loeffler never makes public statements about ongoing negotiations, except to confirm that they are ongoing. He's like a damned policeman or a politician in that respect.

Eg, BJS recently told everybody he's moved on from fighting GGG because Loeffler hasn't sent him a contract.

This is getting really tiresome. GGGs ppvs haven't generated the kind of money where he can command a huge sum IMO. Canelo has other options so GGG is going to either take the offer or not. It appears GGG can make some money with Saunders and then go to 168 and fight Zurdo for decent money.

A rumored middleweight unification match between Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders for June 10 would jeopardize plans for Golovkin to face Canelo Alvarez in the fall or at least push it back to a later date, Golden Boy President Eric Gomez told ******.com on Wednesday.

“If he makes a fight with Saunders, that will screw up our plans for Canelo,” Gomez told RING before a luncheon in Manhattan for David Lemieux’s middleweight crossroads bout with Curtis Stevens on Saturday at Turning Stone Casino on HBO. “That would impact us. So I’m not aware of anything with Saunders. We’re talking and he’s talking about making the fight (between Golovkin and Canelo) in September. If he tries to do a fight with Saunders, that will screw up the plans.”

Multiple sources have indicated to ******.com that Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler and Saunders, who holds a WBO middleweight title, have had extensive talks about a fight in Golovkin’s native Kazakhstan on June 10. While Loeffler denied a deal is in place on a conference call on Tuesday for June 10, he did admit in a discussion about a fight ostensibly on that date that he’s been in contact with different promoters for potential fights. Gomez suggested that wasn’t a good idea if a fight between Golovkin and Canelo takes place in the fall.

“We need enough time to promote a big fight,” Gomez said. “You have to do the (media) rounds. You have to do all these TV shows. There’s so many plans we have and we’ve talked about promoting a big fight. You need time.” Gomez said that Loeffler has mentioned to him “there is an offer” to Golovkin for June 10. “But he said they’re committed to making the fight with Canelo,” Gomez said of Loeffler and Golovkin.

“Our first goal is to make the fight,” Gomez said he was told by Loeffler. “And I said, ‘Ok great.’ But if he does something in June, then it could jeopardize of push it back at least.”
