But everyone else is just be goofy. Everyone doesn't ask Loeffler for promises to make this fight, because they know if this isn't made it was because De La Hoya and Canelo didn't want it to be made. The media member have watched this sport for decades, they don't fall for the bs "sign the contract" excuses from the fighters. They know when Canelo and De La Hoya sit up in interviews and say GGG needs to sign the contract it's hyperbole and self serving statements.

So yes, is De La Hoya blowing smoke, yes. And he's doing to for the fans of Canelo looking for something to hang on to.

But believe this, that whole image Canelo built about taking on the best always, it's been obliterated. It's gone. And they waved goodbye with a smile. They name dropped Floyd on how to properly game a fight. They cited Floyd on how to age an opponent.

But the only people fooled are Canelo fans, the GGG Haters just use it as a means to criticize him. They likely know get the bs De La Hoya is doing.
Freud famously said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Similarly, "Sign the contract" just means sign the contract. Loeffler and 3G should have taken the offer as many of had urged.

Now the blame game is in full stride among the hardcore, but most folks won't give two figs about it in a couple of months. Team GGG's credibility is now in the tank. They started out with lot's of fan support and good will but lost that through their own actions. I was in their camp and a big GGG fan, but was turned off by their continued whining and lying. Time to move on as they say. There will be a lot of other good fights to watch.

Part of every Canelo promotion since Cotto has been Canelo and De La Hoya promising the GGG fight. Even the Chavez fight has that hanging over its head.

You can pretend their isn't blue back against Canelo if you want, but only a fool thinks so.

      But...
I get what you're saying, but in the boxing revenue market, Alvarez is still the leader and by a wide margin. The reality is that the Alvarez isn't in any danger of losing enough of his paying customer base to be forced to fight Golovkin. Even the ones that may have left or may soon leave will come back as Golovkin's aura of invincibility wears off and he's starts looking to be just another good fighter. You guys talk about what happens to Alvarez name if he doesn't fight Golovkin...well what happens to Golovkin's name if he doesn't fight a rematch with Jacobs or someone just as good as better. Sure fight Saunders, then what? What happens when K2 can no longer say, we are focused on Alvarez or getting the WBO belt?

It's not difficult to see what is possibly being set up here. If Canelo beats Chavez jr, then he may fight Lemieux, as the latter is on the same fight card. Golovkin and Canelo maybe not this year. GGG can fight a rematch with Jacobs I guess.

In fairness excuse making is what Oscar excels at these days.

"No baby you don't understand...I was wearing this dress to see if it would fit you"

"I just took some cold medical officer....I don't know where that Jack Daniels smell is coming from *fake cough*"

"Thats just flour...I'm making a cake later"

GGG had signed to fight lemieux for the IBF and been guaranteed a shot at the WBC title after that when he got that offer from Ward.

They told Ward if he wanted to fight GGG at 168 he should get back to them when GGG has finished his business at 160 and was ready to move up.

Nothing wrong with that at all. What you and the rest of the NSB scum keep saying about GGG calling out Ward then backing down never happened.

Really? Knowing nothing at all about Oscar's offer except the vague hints that Oscar and his sidekick were feeding you?

Yep. They were trying to do it with Cotto first. That's why they kept allowing Cotto to make other fights while at the same time screaming they wanted all the belts. Then they allowed Canelo to take another fight while they screamed they wanted all the belts. That's why they're putting more effort into fighting Canelo than they are into fighting Saunders while screaming they want all the belts. Also why they wanted Froch & Chavez Jr at 168 but not Ward, while screaming they want all the belts at 160
