I'm not a fan of either guy. I just want the fight. Marquez, Sugar Ray, Nacho, have all made comments in the last 2 or 3 months that (to them) it's obvious that they're waiting as long as possible with Golovkin in his mid 30's. I just have to question your comment of relevance when Canelo first stated in the post fight that he'd fight him, and then dropped the belt. Max Kellerman says Canelo probably wanted the fight, but Golden Boy didn't think he was ready. Relevance is a fart in a stiff wind at this point.

Travycat, don't forget that a $15 million + offer was on the table for September 2017 not September 2021. That went out the window when GGG's mystique went out the window with the Jacobs fight and when it is now estimated that there were less than 120,000 PPVs.

Alvarez, even if he had to strip naked (which isn't true), he was still able to weigh 154lbs and fight a hard 10 rounds of a 12 round fight (with no signs that he couldn't hae finished out with a few more hard rounds either).

Of-course Canelo is going to make more now because he is the cash cow in boxing, an A-side boxer, and a star in boxing. Canelo became a bigger star and had his biggest wins in his career after the Mayweather fight.

Michel isn't all that big a middleweight and, because he doesn't have the TV backing, he and his camp are ready and willing to take whatever good fight offered to him, at 154lbs and at 160lbs.

Alvarez made 154lbs, even naked on the scales, and still fought his ass off, with no fatigue from cutting the weight.

he is following Golovkin's instructions explicitly

throwing Loeffler under a bus will not remove the blame from Golovkin

1) Golovkin is 100% responsible/accountable for the words/actions of his official representatives

2) if Golovkin was not 100% happy with his team, then he would change them, just like MANY other fighters have done

3) Golovkin has never contradicted a word that they have said, and is clearly the most "well-managed" (protected) fighter in the sport today

Golovkin is more than happy with the extremely wise risk/reward decisions that have been made throughout his career, as they have turned him into a very wealthy man

I don't know the reason for it, he might be doing it out of principal or whatever but saying he's fearful of fighting at 159 is inane given his fight night weight.
