Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach Reacts To De La Hoya's Position on June Fight

Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBF, WBC, IBO, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), believes Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs), is looking for a reason to avoid a September fight.

GGG vs Canelo in 2019 is very good for Golden Boy. To that time GGG won't be able to win even Dominic Wade.

So true. Canelo and Oscar still ducking. The fight is already past it sell by date. It's September or bust. GGG will move up to 168 if Canelo doesn't want to fight him this year.

So Canelo is okay to fight in May, but GGG fighting the month agfter, is a deal-breaker for them fighting another 3 months later?

          Right.

I think Oscar is tying that pantyhose too tight around his own neck and cutting off oxygen to his brain. Either that or he really is just a ****ing idiot.

All excuses, what will be odh excuse when GGG blasts Saunders out, and canelo manages to get past Chavez? Probably be like... Not enough time to promote the fight... GGG should take less money... No ppv money for GGG... Just excuses on top of excuses it will be, if it doesnt happen in Sept everyones gonna give up hope of it happening and it will foreva affect Canelos legacy as all the pundits will always say he didnt fight GGG when he was at his best instead waited over 2 years, dropped his title and made all other sort of excuses, fact of matter is when Canelo demanded GBP to make the Lara fight, it went against Oscars wishes and the fight got made... If canelo really wanted it... This fight would get made! Fact of the matter is Canelo nor Oscar want it

And what if Mayweather vs McGregor happens September 16th as it's been rumored to? Then what Oscar? I hope Mayweather vs McGregor does happen September 16th. I want to see what the next excuse is for not having the GGG-Canelo fight in November or something.

-GGG becomes Canelo's mandatory at 160

-Canelo tells the boxing world that Mexicans don't F around and he'll fight GGG right there and then.

-Canelo vacates the belt and drops back down to 154

-Oscar says Canelo is not a true MW

-Canelo signs to take on Chavez Jr at 164

-Oscar tells GGG that if he takes a fight just one month after Canelo faces JCC Jr that he'll pull he offer for a fight in Sept

I think its quite obvious who's ducking who.

not even the most dedicated ggg hater should side with canelo on this. this is just petty. now im rooting for chavez to knock the ginger out. if Loeffler caves to these demands ggg needs to find a different promoter. all these years talking all this sht about wanting all the belts, well heres the chance. and they're gonna pass that up because a cross dresser said so? pathetic.
