Well yeah technically, for example, a student could grade out at a 3.4 in GPA and still be technically "inferior" to a student who owns a 3.5 GPA...I'm not that smart but yes, I do understand the technical definition -- but within the context of sports, inferior is mostly used as a strong word.

When I think of inferior, in sports, I think of the Cleveland Browns in comparison to the New England Patriots. That's inferior. Or Rod Salka to Danny Garcia. **** like that. Is Floyd a greater counter puncher than JMM? Sure. I'll give you that. But Marquez is still one of the GREAT counter punchers of his generation.

Floyd beats Manny every day of the week. Floyd is just an awful style for Manny but Manny is great in his own right.

Floyd won the first fight about 9-3 and would probably win easier next time. Manny will get another phantom injury no doubt. If anybody believes he was injured, then i have a bridge to sell you. There's footage of him training around the time it was injured, they never mentioned it between rounds and never mentioned it in the ring in the post fight interview. That excuse was thought up before the press conference, 100%.

And inferior is a strong word, dude. Yes Floyd was an amazingly prolific counter puncher, no question, but JMM was one of the great counter punchers of his generation.
The Mayweather team is one of the best if not the best in boxing at breaking down film of a boxer and exposing his weaknesses and tendencies. I don't think for one minute that the shot that slept Manny would not have been thrown by Mayweather prior to Marquez landing it.

Sure inferior is a strong word but Mayweather is a level above Marquez when it comes to counterpunching.

floyd is a defensive genius and nullified everything manny brings to the table, he won the first fight convincingly and there is no need for another snooze-fest. i love manny but i do not want to see a rematch. manny should fight khan. id love to see that fight. khans defense is shaky which makes it an entertaining match up.

Yeah I would agree with that.

Floyd occupied his own level/tier when it came to that aspect. Marquez however would be on the tier immediately below.

Floyd is so incredibly prolific though defensively, and with his masterful counter game that it would still have been doubtful for a prime Manny...but a prime Manny woulda at least had a real shot

But the Marquez KO totally changed him. He became way more of a boxer -- and is now incredibly calculated with his risks. Before JMM 4 he threw caution to the wind. Now he's soooooooooooooo much more selective and cautious.

Manny's actually a very underrated boxer...he's 5-1 since the Marquez KO and got all five W's by simply boxing for the most part. With the only loss to the best boxer of the generation.

But yeah, trying to box with Floyd Mayweather...that's a recipe for a surefire UD loss. Which is what happened that night. Manny tried to box him. To have had any shot Manny would've had to have been the Manny of old -- the Manny who would throw a thousand punches in a fight. And that version of Manny became totally extinct after Marquez blasted him.
Manny never changed! Go Watch his career. Marquez beat him in all his fights....

What we need is a thorough reevaluation of who won this fight and the scoring....

Gets chair out, gets under table and manual for "duck and cover when the bomb is dropped" closes eyes, grabs nads, waits....
