Golovkin vs BJS is a good fight and needs to happen. What nonsense to say the only top fight beat is Lee and that reason enough for Golovkin to skip it. Hello Mr. Fitz, the only top fight Jacobs beat was Quillin and that didn't stop us from wanting that fight.

Canelo vs Golovkin is the fight to make afterwards. Jacobs should focus on reestablishing himself by beat 1 or 2 top fighters in the division. Jacobs knew the deal and let the fight slip through his fingers. This isn't a charity event that placates to the whims of dillusional writers and fans.
    Stopped reading right there lol.

Only issue with that is Sergio was not natural MW.

Again, I can't tell you how to think and feel. But as a fan that's followed boxing closely for nearly 25yrs. All I can say is your line of thinking is extremely flawed. And the longer you follow the sport as a hardcore fan, the less important the belts will become to you.

          • I have to watch this fight. I've read so many people have different opinions on who won. It had to be close for people to demand a rematch. Normally when it's a boring or blow out nobody is this pissed about the results. Can't wait to watch it.

Not sure I agree, Martinez wasn't the most elusive guy, although people deemed him an awkward semi slick type mover. Williams, Macklin, and Barker, didn't have much trouble finding him with good shots. At his best, he struggled with Paul Williams(first fight), Matthew Macklin, and Darren Barker. Neither Golovkin, or Jacobs would have had problems with those guys. I doubt either guy would have had a problem with Martinez either. I could see both stopping him, with Martinez being semi competitive in spots.

I don't think Jacobs fought the best he could fight. There's a lot of things that Jacobs could do differently in a rematch, like let his handsgo more. Jacobs respected GGG's power way too much, especially in the early portions of the fight. When he let his hands go in combination, it froze GGG. Jacobs now has the luxury of knowing he can take GGG's punches. A rematch would be very intriguing.

As for his best not being good enough. That's your opinion. Every credible scorecard out there has it no more than 7-5 one way or the other. And there's so many close rounds that you can justify 7-5 either way. So regardless of how you scored it, nothing was settled.

As for the IBF. They choose to implement a rule that differs from any other sanctioning body and/or commission. If you wanna fight for their title, you have to abide by their rules. Danny decided that he didn't wanna fight for their title. Its no different from a fighter opting not to pay a sanctioning fee in order to fight for a belt. Similar to what Cotto did with the WBC against Canelo. Had GGG lost, he would have retained that belt. As you know, GGG could have pulled out of the fight if he had a problem with it. If it wasn't a big deal deal to him. Don't understand why his fans are making a fuss about it.

Charlo some think might be the best of all including GGG and Canelo and Jacobs and Lara and Saunders.

Actually, Gennady would be perfectly capable of beating a middle belt holder after 40 and surpass Hopkins.

And Hopkins only started living the pro life at 25; Gennady by that time had already amassed a stellar amateur career.

Morever, Jacobs' from last night is a better win than any career middle Hopkins ever beat.

And i'm not even counting the 2 Mercado knockdowns and Jones loss.
