The more I think about it the more I think that certain instances you're right. It really depends upon the champion. For instance, I wish Floyd didn't waste anytime with Carlos Baldomir. Based upon his last performance I can see how that argument would work against a Saunders fight. But in the context of what GGG wants to do it makes sense. Because once again, as long as one of the major belts is hanging from someone else's waste all the big names at middleweight or who are going to move up from junior middleweight will have a much easier target for a belt than GGG. But once he gets the belt from BJS all these guys (the Charlo brothers, Canelo, Jacobs, Lara, Lee etc.) all have to come to GGG for a belt. The belt adds to his legacy but also acts as enormous leverage.

Idiot. In what way does a ward fight make history for GGG...ward is an overrated bum who got beaten by kovalev and now walks around like he pitched a shutout. Ward will go down in history as a mayweather wannabe without the sublime skills...mouth or money. Ward fights nobody without having all advantage and a bunch of morons telling him he deserves it.Comment

I'm truly sorry to hear that. Did she do chemo? This is the 2nd person I knew that did chemo and died within months of starting. I honestly think without chemo they could of lasted a few more years???
She wasn't my wife but I really loved her. She passed away last July 3 days after my birthday.Comment

Then he shouldn't have said he wanted to fight for the IBF title, doing so makes him a liar. So you're telling me a fighter that got out landed, out thrown, got hit at a higher %, and got knocked down could have won the fight. Jacobs fought well but he didn't win.I don't think Jacobs fought the best he could fight. There's a lot of things that Jacobs could do differently in a rematch, like let his handsgo more. Jacobs respected GGG's power way too much, especially in the early portions of the fight. When he let his hands go in combination, it froze GGG. Jacobs now has the luxury of knowing he can take GGG's punches. A rematch would be very intriguing.
As for his best not being good enough. That's your opinion. Every credible scorecard out there has it no more than 7-5 one way or the other. And there's so many close rounds that you can justify 7-5 either way. So regardless of how you scored it, nothing was settled.
As for the IBF. They choose to implement a rule that differs from any other sanctioning body and/or commission. If you wanna fight for their title, you have to abide by their rules. Danny decided that he didn't wanna fight for their title. Its no different from a fighter opting not to pay a sanctioning fee in order to fight for a belt. Similar to what Cotto did with the WBC against Canelo. Had GGG lost, he would have retained that belt. As you know, GGG could have pulled out of the fight if he had a problem with it. If it wasn't a big deal deal to him. Don't understand why his fans are making a fuss about it.Comment

Unfortunately, the reality is that there is no guaranteed cure and it really does come down to a bit of pot luckI'm truly sorry to hear that. Did she do chemo? My father passed away 2 years ago after a massive operation followed by 7 months of chemo
"Fortunately", he wasnt a young man and had lived a great life to that point but I was left with the feeling of "why did you put him through that?"
Chemo is a poison that weakens the body to such an extent that it renders the patient helpless and makes it impossible for them to fight back (even if there was a chance of doing so)Comment

I think GGG has the potential to go down as the more accomplished middleweight but I agree with Motorcity Cobra that he probably shouldn't be considered the better middleweight. Based upon pure boxing ability B-Hop is the better guy. I also don't know if GGG holds up as well at 40. He is too willing to take punches to put on a Big Drama Show and has never been swift of foot. As he ages, I think younger and faster middleweights are going to be able to handle him. B-Hop had the craft and the dirty tactics to get into these young guys heads.Actually, Gennady would be perfectly capable of beating a middle belt holder after 40 and surpass Hopkins.
And Hopkins only started living the pro life at 25; Gennady by that time had already amassed a stellar amateur career.
Morever, Jacobs' from last night is a better win than any career middle Hopkins ever beat.
And i'm not even counting the 2 Mercado knockdowns and Jones loss.Comment

My wife had cancer stage IV when she undertook surgery... then they tried chemo but she died in about three weeks after that...I'm truly sorry to hear that. Did she do chemo? I'm sorry to hear that you lost your girl friend...
May they rest in peace...
But you're young and you must forget such things asap, because you need to enjoy the life ahead of you...Comment

You should ring him up and tell him his new career path, I'm sure he will be delighted to put his life goals off to appease some haters that have never laced up a pair of boxing gloves. Golovkin beat Jacobs, if a rematch is warranted it happens on the champs terms. When will GGG's realize that outside of them, and a few novice fight fans. Nobody gives a **** about his pointless and meaningless belt quest. Never have, never will. F.uck his "personal goals." Especially when his "personal goals" include chasing after C level paper trinket holds and guys in lower divisions. GGG has ZERO legitimate reasons not to give Jacobs a rematch. Division supremacy isn't about collecting belts. Its about clearly beating all the guys that people believe are the best in the division. That's a solid number of folks that feel GGG lost to Jacobs. Even more that think the fight was close enough that had Jacobs got the decision, it would have been just. Give the man his rematch. Beat his ass. Remove all doubt. That's what real champions do.Comment
