He also has houses in L.A and Miami and probably many other places, doesn't make them his hometowns. He was born and raised in Michigan which is his hometown.

Floyd wasn't doing those numbers with anybody else. So clearly Canelo brought something to the table. What shows have Amir Khan headlines that made him a star? Preliminary numbers for GGG-Jacobs are rolling in, and they're ****. Between 130K-150K. Nobody cares about GGG's goofy ass.
Actually what it does show is that Jacobs couldn't draw flies to ***** since the numbers seem to be at best equal o what GGG did with Lemieux. So all the hubub about how GGG needs to rematch Jacobs might just be coming from the 5 GGG haters posting on this forum. No one else gives a crap which is a damned shame.

The more I think about it I think the bigger problem is with the PPV model of the event. These guys (GGG, Jacobs, Gonzales) are big names but they aren't stars capable of selling big ppv numbers so why are they charging $65 for the event? It makes sense to see if they can get more viewers by charging $40-$45. These guys are going to have to be willing to accept less guaranteed money in order to strengthen the undercard. There is no reason why Gonzalez and Cuadras are wasting time fighting no-names on the same card. Let them fight each other and add in another quality fight to fill the slot. And if the guy in fighting GGG is a PBC fighter why not have a genuine co-promotion. Bring in some of their guys on the card. Or do what the UFC does and have a free tv portion of the card to promote the PPV before the actual event.

I don't know. These are just ideas. But its clear that if HBO wants to keep trotting GGG out in PPVs they are going to have to step up their promotional game. The same ole thing just doesn't seem to work.

That is different. GGG would have to have immigrated to pull that off. Mayweather moved from one part of the US to the other. You know that it isn't even remotely comparable situations so stop pretending otherwise.

Either the place they live is their hometown or isn't make up your damn mind, stop the double standards.

Most people consider where someone is raised as their hometown.
