Alternative roots to what? If I'm Joe Contender and I got two offers on the table. Fight GGG for $1M and 50 belts. Or, fight Joe Dip****, who I'm a beat the **** out of for $1M. Which one am I gonna choose?

Being stripped of the WBA title wasn't enough to make Felix Sturm fight him. Being stripped of the WBC title wasn't enough to make Canelo fight him.
Until they met his financial demands.

Being the mandatory for GGG's title is the only reason Jacobs fought him. As for those other guys, firstly finances has nothing to do with those guys. Sturm wanted nothing to do with GGG. There wasn't a dollar amount that would have made it work for him. And until Canelo signs on the dotted line and the fight is confirmed no one has any reason to suspect Canelo is any different. Also, they had other options which allowed them to make good money at less risk while still having the opportunity to fight for titles. Canelo got a title shot straight away while Sturm got one in his second fight in his new division despite only having a draw in the previous fight.

And the fight was only made after his financial demands were made. So exactly how are the belts forcing anybody to fight him?

No one is saying that the belt will force them to fight him. But it makes it more likely. As long as there is an easier champion out there GGG doesn't have any leverage.

Nobody is avoiding him...they just want to get paid fairly.

The problem is that fair means something different to different people. Comparatively speaking PBC fighters get paid insane amounts of money to fight bums. As such they demand a hell of a lot more to fight someone with a pulse. But objectively are they worth the money they are getting. No.

GGG thinks he deserves a bigger cut of the PPV than Golden Boy is offering. Golden Boy says he doesn't deserve it because he's not PPV seller. They might be right. But at the same time, Canelo doesn't seem to draw a lot of PPVs if he doesn't have a compelling name like Cotto or Mayweather on the other side of the ring either. So GGG has a case himself. The point is what is a "fair" price is highly subjective.

It makes no sense to pursue Jacobs again right now, when he has the OPPORTUNITY to fight for the only remaining belt.

When will GGG's realize that outside of them, and a few novice fight fans. Nobody gives a **** about his pointless and meaningless belt quest. Never have, never will. F.uck his "personal goals." Especially when his "personal goals" include chasing after C level paper trinket holds and guys in lower divisions. GGG has ZERO legitimate reasons not to give Jacobs a rematch. Division supremacy isn't about collecting belts. Its about clearly beating all the guys that people believe are the best in the division. That's a solid number of folks that feel GGG lost to Jacobs. Even more that think the fight was close enough that had Jacobs got the decision, it would have been just. Give the man his rematch. Beat his ass. Remove all doubt. That's what real champions do.

Canelo dropped trout and it was open scoring he knew the scores and quit after the knockdown. After the fight said himself he lost. Aint no robbery when there is open scoring throughout the fight. Lara ran from canelo booed all night horrible fight where there was no public demand for a rematch to see that crap again. Ggg won a close fight learn how to score a fight and don't base a fighter wining on your emotions. Jacob being the best middleweight not even close, even you didn't believe that when you wrote it. if ggg is worth a $h!t he will give Jacob a rematch and Shut people like you up and I believe ggg will give that rematch after he collects the belts.
