No he doesn't. The WBA didn't sanction the Brook fight but the fight went on so he just defended the WBC and IBF belts. If it was the IBF instead of the WBA that didn't sanction it, he would not have had to defend the IBF belt which means he wouldn't have had to follow their rules. Which is my point. If Jacobs told the IBF that he didn't want to fight for their belt, they wouldn't have sanction the fight, he wouldn't have been defending it, and he wouldn't have had to weigh in again.
Lemieux cheated. Jacobs didn't cheat by skipping the 2nd day weigh-in

When the opponent opts out of paying sanctioning fees and the chance to win that title, the title holders title is usually still on the line. It just becomes vacant if he loses. You know it is possible to fight for one belt right? Like Jacobs could have just said I'm the WBA mando, that's all I want to fight for and then this fight would not have been sanctioned by the WBC or the IBF. However, if he did that, a second day weigh in would not have been necessary for GGG, bc his IBF title wasn't on the line making your argument completely wrong. The fact is the only reason the IBF came off the table is because he didn't show up. Everthing he did is exactly the same as Lemiuex did.Comment

Yes, if GGG wants to keep his IBF belt he has to weigh in regardless of what his opponent decides to do. Stevens had the option to weigh in or not. GGG doesn't have that option. Comprende?

Comment
