    Unified or Lineal?

Now that im finally back from my Mod mandated two week break, i just wanted to say hello to yall.

I have a boxing question for everyone:

In your opinion, what is the more important and the bigger deal career wise, being a unified champion or a Lineal Champion. We all know the ultimate is to become Undisputed in a division but we know that is not likely to happen in this era. But what is yall opinion on what is more important and the better accomplishment, being Unified or Lineal?

You can only become lineal by beating the champ or the guy viewed as the best in the division.

The orgs decide who they want as title holders. They strip guys or give titles to get who they want as a title holder.

      Pretty clear which means more.

Whoever beats the best competition. It's all about context...if the lineal title holder isn't fighting the best in the division, then that title doesn't mean much.

You can only become lineal by beating the lineal champ or if vacant the winner of a fight between #1 vs #2 boxers in the division.

When #1 fights #2 for that organizations belt that doesnt mean that person becomes the best or lineal in that division. Whos to say those two are better than the other 3 or 4 champs that that division has.

How is lineal even relevant these days?

In years past you can trace the lineal title because you were the man who beat the man who beat the man and trace it back to the beginning. But with the cluster *** of so many champs how can that be determined anymore?

That's not true at all...lineal titles can and have been won as vacant many times throughout boxing history. The major flaw with the lineal title, is there is nothing forcing the holder to defend it against the best opposition, or to even compete in the weight class at all...how is that better than any sanctioning body belt? I guess it doesn't really matter since it's fictitious tho. The only solution is one recognized title per division.

Yes it's all about context. Let's take Canelo and his fake lineal championship at 160 (SMDH). He beat Cotto at Caneloweight, who beat Sergio Martinez (With bad knees) who was the man when he had 2 good knees and only was the man cause he avoided THE GOAT GGG. See how lineal doesn't mean fighting the best in the division?
