Comments Thread For: Jacobs: Golovkin's Best Years Behind Him, But Still Dangerous

Daniel Jacobs suspects that he won't encounter the best Gennady Golovkin that ever existed Saturday night. After watching Kell Brook have much-discussed success against Golovkin before the unbeaten star stopped Brook six months ago in London, Jacobs believes he'll catch Golovkin at the right time when they meet at Madison Square Garden. Golovkin, who'll defend his IBF, WBA and WBC middleweight titles against Jacobs, will turn 35 three weeks after their fight and, according to Jacobs, has shown signs of decline.

I hope that is not the case

After all the shit and hate we throw at this guy he IS just a boxer trying to make a living in a very tough and demanding profession and he deserves to make some money.

That being said, accept Canelo's terms BBB!!

Danny Jacob's trainer: I don't want to hear any excuses about GGG's age.

Danny Jacobs: GGG's best years are behind him.

That's what Jacobs and his trainer are hoping. It's also why they waited for the WBA to order the fight, instead of demanding it as soon as Danny won the regular title.

No excuses about Golovkin's age doe!

Golovkin's "Best" years have been over the past few years. and If he can secure fights with Saunders and Canelo maybe Charlo's this year you get argue his best years is right now in the present.

People get fighters from that region of the world mistaken. They are known to have longevity well into their 30's. Sure he's not 25 anymore but in many ways you can say GGG of today is a lot better than he was when he was 25 years old.

It's just like the Klitschko bro's they dominated well into their 30's.

Floyd ,Pac ,Marquez all fough on high lvl in they late 30s and was arguably the best in this age so GGG have 3 or 4 good years infront of him.

Sounds kind of like Jacobs is admitting to waiting until GGG got old and looked vulnerable before fighting him. He initially planned to wait longer, but after seeing GGG age rapidly in the last few fights in Danny's eyes, Danny admits he didn't want someone else to get the credit of beating GGG first, so he jumped on the chance now.

I mean, that's kind of what it sounds like. Which is what GGG fans said all along, that these guys were ducking GGG all these years but would finally start to fight him when he was on the wrong side of 34, 35. And that's where we are. On saturday, we find out how much GGG has aged, or if he really was just looking vulnerable on purpose to lure in opponents to finally fight him.

Danny fought GGG a day before GGG fought Brook. Danny called out GGG on live TV a day before the Brook-GGG fight happened. Why are you such an idiot?

Are you saying Danny called out GGG based off the Wade fight?

God, I can't wait until you GGG fans go away
