if i remember correctly that fight didnt crack 1 million, still did a lot more than expected, but it wasnt considered a big event by the parties invlolved, they didnt have big promotion pushing the fight, it sold a lot cuz of oscar, but the million ppv days are gone and now only big events can reach that mark... floyd-ortiz wouldnt crack a million ppvs today and it wasnt considered a big event back then... canelo-cotto was a big event and didnt do as expected due to the lack of promotio and of course the current boxing landscape...
