That's the things, in the era that boxing is in and the era that Floyd is in it's almost impossible to become a true blue TBE.

The competition is just not there. Sorry that just being honest.

Tell me what Is wrong with being 20th all time?

But in this era of you want to be in a realistic talk of being the best ever. You have to do things that are widely considered impossible at the highest levels. And be great and dominate for years on end.

Floyd has the dominate for years on end box checked but he doesnt have the doing the impossible box check. And because of that's he is 20th.

I doubt many people on this forum even have an all time great list all written down in order from the first best to the 20th best or the 50th best. Mayweather is a great fighter for sure. It's too hard for me to compare him with all the other great fighters in boxing history and tell exactly where he ranks.

In floyds era if he wanted to be in legitimate talks of being TBE, he had to have done things considered impossible. And his resume doesn't have that.

As far as Manny goes. When he was in the midst of this run that he was on. It seemed amazing, but with the dust settled and eyes more clear. His run was great but still it falls short in order for him to be ranked higher thsh Floyd. IMO Manny is about 25 to 30th all time.
People are blinded by the buzz at the time. When Pacquiao was on that run people used to talk about him at a top 4 all-time guy too.

The thing is, it's unbelievable to be regarded as one of the 30 or so best fighters to ever do it. But fans of those guys seem to regard it as an insult. It's not saying they're not great, just that their actual achievements don't stack up with the very top tier.

I find it hard to imagine any guys from this era ever doing that to be honest. They don't fight often enough, and they don't fight top competition often enough either.

So what? So they were both past it so that somehow makes it better? What if they were both in their mid-forties?

Nothing compares to beating guys when they were at their peak. That did not happen. Even if there was evidence of decline beforehand, any chance of Floyd-Pacquiao being up there as a win of real historical significance went out the window after JMM starched Manny.

If it had happened in 2009 or 2010 it would be different. But it didn't, and that's that. A great opportunity was missed.

Look you are not smart enough to come to grips with it. But I know from history and watching boxing since the 80's Floyd is 20th.

You think telling me to name the 19 guys before him will get me to stumble? You are crazy Larry.

Just realize your God is not TBE and is 20th at best. His era and his record of who he fought puts a cap on how high he can go in the rankings and 20th is his cap.
I never said he was the best nor ranked him..you ranked him at number 20 but cant name 19 ahead of him??? seems like you are the one with the issue here

I haven't seen every fighter who ever laced them up under professional boxing rules. I also don't have newspapers, radio recordings, or full footage of old fights so I can't really answer that question without being full of ****.

With that said, speaking of only fighters i've seen, Floyd is top 10. But keep in mind i'm omitting at least 60 years of pro boxers.

so a old head, should get the same credit for beating older, shopworn heads, than a prime head gets for beating fellow prime heads is that what ya sayin'?

in ring years, floyd was far more preserved than any of those guys so where is the intrigue in that?...

oscar - best days were long behind him...2 good scraps with shane and vargas, had already been ko'd by hopkins, and was a part time fighter...that wasn't a title fight that was a ppv changing of the guard fight...nothing more, nothing less...good win not great

shane - already been ****d by forrest and winky, vargas and cotto took a little more out of him...good win not a great win by any stretch...

cotto. same deal...ravaged by margarito and pacqauio...good win but the cotto that had just beat shane would have been far more impressive...

Manny Pac...hate to bring this one up because of the nonstop excuses but the obvious is multiple wars and then the ko by marquez, margarito took something out of him...the expiration date on this fight was way overdue...good win but even how floyd won was just lackluster...

That's how I feel also. I sometimes watch old fights but I got into boxing when I was like 16-17

I watched before but I started really following in my late teens.
