This is not May/Pac you dumb phuk. Those were the 2 best fighters of their generation and both massive ppv stars and a fight fans everywhere was craving for what 6 years? It needed no promotions to be successful. GGG is a phuking nobody to casual fans, not a ppv star, matter fact has never been in a successful ppv and can't even sell tickets to his next fight. You need more time to sell this guy and maximize on the event.

Let's look back at DLH's history as a fighter:

In 1997, before fighting on 9/13, he fought on 6/14.

In 1998, before fighting on 9/18, he fought on 6/13...and his Sep. opponent Chavez fought on 6/25.

In 1999, before fighting Trinidad, DLH fought on 5/22 and Trinidad fought on 5/29.

In 2004, before fighting on 9/18, he fought Sturm on 6/5...and his Sep. opponent Hopkins fought on the same card.

Fighting in June (or late May) hardly seems like a deal-breaker for September...unless one side wants it to be a deal-breaker.

When you the A side you call the shots, Canelo fights on May/Sept. K2 and GGG knew this all last year. They have had a contract offer on the table since LAST year. The fight was ALWAYS only going to happen on Canelo's dates if it was so important to K2 to grab Saunders meaningless belt then they shouldn't of cheap'd out last year by fighting Wade instead of paying a few more bucks to Saunders. Or they could of wrapped up Jacobs fight on schedule to make the HBO Dec date. They phuked up negotiations twice last year and now want to cram a last minute fight on Canelo's dime and time? LMAO Again K2 once again proves how over they heads they are in making big fights.
A June fight doesn't interfere with a September fight. If anything Golovkin fighting in June makes the September fight even bigger. Oscar & Bernard fought in June prior to their September fight. Gomez is reaching for excuses.

And it's cutting down the time Golden Boy has to promote Canelo's Sept fight. Anything can happen in the ring Canelo broke a bone in his hand his last fight. It's unnecessary risk when you have a phuking contract on the table for 15mil and you the clear B side to Canelo. You upset that GGG has to sit and wait a few months longer and wait oh well blame K2 for phuking around with Jacobs. Could of fought in Dec like HBO planned and then had plenty of time to fight Saunders in April/May and been lined up perfectly with Canelo's schedule. Instead you haggled over crumbs with Jacobs and now want Canelo to pay for it in Sept? K2 = amateur hour
What a load of s###. How does it feel to make yourself look like a bytch for another man.
Who are gbp to tell anyone when they can fight. Fighters get cut and injured all the time in training (ssl setup real fights in the gym leading up to the hagler fight) and aren't you a ward fan who always pulls out the so called "offer" to fight in a years time after they fight other people f#$^ing hypocrite

Don't limit it to just the Hopkins fight, look at DLH's calendar 97-99.

Yep. Just a reckless excuse by Gomez.

And stop comparing this to Oscar/Bhop. Bhop was a known PPV commodity and Oscar was coming off a layoff, 2nd longest layoff of his career and longest NON injury related layoff. That's why he wanted a warm up fight to knock off rust and adjust to higher weight, he was the A side and that was his demand he already had a deal in place with Hopkins and that tune up almost killed the Hopkins fight. It would be totally different if Hopkins the B side and already adjusted to the weight said I know we have deal in place but let me fight one last fight real quick you ok with that Oscar? Hell no that wouldn't fly.

K2 should tell Golden boy to kick rocks, go get Saunders strap, and if Canelo ever mans up and wants a middleweight title then send it to purse bid and get 50-50 or better.
